This is an idea that I like but it only works if you're familiar with corporate buzz phrases. I've always thought there's something weird about the phrase "put a pin in it." It's not the worst buzzphrase ever, but it's just....odd. And I think balloons would find it offensive.

(Besides the piñata and the balloon, the other items in the meeting are a birthday cake, a red Solo cup, and a birthday party hat.)

Have you heard "put a pin in it"? I'm curious how well-known this phrase is.

I've certainly heard it, and I'm not deep in the business world.

Jennifer Baker

I’ve heard it before. I thought this was hilarious.

Debbie Jarrett

I love it. It made me laugh out loud. I've heard it and used it. Even if people don't know what it means within the business world they will know that balloons do not like pins!

Scott Metzger

That’s how I think about it too. Like pinning something on a bulletin board for later. I actually Googled it to find out the derivation and turns out it came from hand grenades. Putting a pin in a hand grenade to save it for later. Who knew?

Wendy S. Katz

yes, that phrase is quite familiar to me. The Solo cup cracks me up.

Susan M

That’s a new phrase to me. It makes me think of pinning something at the top of a computerized list. BTW I love the way the cake is looking over at Bradley.

Terri S

I actually knew this one! Must have learned it from my dad, a WWII veteran.

Nancy DeStadio

Hand grenades yikes!. I’ve certainly heard the expression “ pull the pin” which would indicate the opposite action.

Laurie Stoker

I've heard the phrase before, but was never really sure what it meant. Maybe "save for later"?

Amy

I've heard it before but I don't know if it was in real life or just in the culture.

I haven’t heard this one before and I worked in corporate for 13 years lol. Poor Bradley though and the expression on his face is spot on for how he is feeling. You have such a gift!
