Do you have a cat who likes catnip? My 13-year-old cat, Max, loves it. My kitten, Piper, doesn't seem interested in it. She prefers playing with crumpled up balls of paper.

I'm posting this on social tomorrow because it's 4/20 and Caturday.

Our kitties want some Jade Fade 😹😹😹😹

It’s the strongest catnip on the market! 🙂

My cats have enjoyed catnip mostly from around age 1 to age 12. Before and after that they had no interest. One of mine was quite the "mean drunk" so I ended up withholding it from her.

All my parents' cats whom I've known (five to date) have enjoyed catnip. But for a favorite toy, there's a ribbon on the end of a wand we can easily move around for them.

I’ve had many cats over many years, & have had all sorts of reactions to catnip from them, from hilarious to mean. I have one cat right now that is the cat equivalent of Tommy Chong. Catnip just makes him act like more of a stoner, which I didn’t think possible. I think cats have to be almost, or totally, grown before they can react to catnip. The animal kingdom’s “over 21” law lol.

Four of our cats will do anything for catnip. One of those four will also do anything for silvervine. The rest don’t care at all. Yay cats!

Most enjoy the nip. My late Oscar liked the nip but he became a mean drunk. So we limited his nip treats. 🙄

Our Max inhaled it! Loved his catnip! Chilly preferred the roll on the floor all over the carpet method. (both my kitties RIP.... :( )

We have pouches stuffed with nip. Both cats love licking these. We call them Lickums. Sammy licked his way through the material covering. That’s some serious licking.

I was so sorry to hear about Chilly. Again, my condolences.

My two cats don't really care about catnip either. OTOH, I gave the catnip to my friends and their cat goes crazy for it! I also gave them a catnip plant that was doing pretty well on my porch because of the same lack of interest. I hope their kitty didn't get to it before it got established in their garden!

Laurie Stoker

I don't what your garden situation is, but you can find it at most of the nurseries and it's pretty easy to grow.

Watch out! Catnip is in the mint family and is very aggressive. Grows fast and spreads like crazy

Most of my cats over the years have loved the nip, but I’ve had a few who didn’t react to it. How old is Piper? I’ve heard that kittens don’t develop the ability to smell catnip until at least 6 months old.

Scott Metzger

Piper is around 10 months old. She was the runt of her litter so she seems younger 🙂

I know! Paul will be able to handle it. 😊
