I’m convinced Piper thinks Dobby’s bed is hers. Max has never tried sitting in Dobby‘s bed. He prefers sitting on chairs.

That little pink thing to the right of the bed is a crumpled up Post-it note. Piper loves playing fetch with them. My old cat, Simon, would play fetch, but he’d only do it once or twice. Piper will keep playing fetch, like a dog. She’s a weirdo.

Anyone else have a cat that plays fetch?

My girl Mia LOVES to play fetch! It’s a daily AND nightly routine of hers.😸

Our newest little lady, Lilith, loves it and a year in has yet to give it up. She’s also particular in what she plays fetch with (only a certain type of catnip filled mouse toy)

My male cat played fetch when he was much younger. Now it has evolved into a sort of a baseball situation where I pitch the foil ball and he either bats it back to me or catches it. I never know which. So I have to be ready to catch if he hits it.

I had a cat named Mitzi who once brought me one of her toys, a blue hard plastic kooshball style toy. She dropped it next to me on the couch and I pick it up and threw it, and so began many years of playing fetch with her. I have saved that toy as a memento of Mitzi.

My kitties LOVE my pink fuzzy socks and bring them to me all the time!! They have to be pink though. 😁 They are mighty pink sock hunters, that's for sure!! 🤩

When I was six, I asserted (before I had any evidence) that cat Millie would fetch. I threw a stick, and she ran over to it. At that time, I thought that that was all that "fetching" entailed.

I had two cats years ago that would swat under the dryer the plastic thingys that went around tops of milk jugs. At one time I had service on the dryer and the handyman was astounded to find a stash of plastic thingys! :)

Interesting! What kinds of things does she like to fetch?

Scott Metzger

That’s funny! They all have their preferences

I’ve only had one cat who would fetch and that was decades ago. She liked little furry toy mice (probably made with real fur). I would throw it down my hallway and she would bring it back. We would repeat this many times, and when she got tired of the game she would put the mouse in her water bowl.

I lived with a roommate's tireless fetchaholic cat years ago. Crumpled paper was a favorite. He would also steal round yogurt tub lids from the dish drainer for us to throw as cat-size frisbees.

Haha when I had cats we would always be amazed at the things we found when an appliance had to be moved.

Those rings are a hot hit with cats! They look like little hockey players

Fetchaholic… I think that’s what Piper is. She might need to go to a 12-step program.

Sponge balls and little sticks with dangly things. She’s not the first kitty to enjoy fetch. My late kitty Cutie loved fetch. Must be a girl thing in my cat family 🥰

Oh so many years ago, the first cat that ever owned me would fetch a green seedless grape if you threw it, but you had to throw low to the ground. For my father only, that cat would bring the grape back & drop it beside him where he sat. Now I read that grapes are not good for cats, but he didn’t eat it, or even break the skin. Piper KNOWS that Dobby’s bed is hers. She is the Queen of Everything, as I posted a while ago 😹😹😹

PS: my father passed away when the cat was about 3 years old, & the cat never played fetch again. Weird. Guess my dad was his chosen person. About 10 years later the cat chose my husband (then boyfriend) as his person. Although he didn’t play fetch, there was no other human that had that cat’s loyalty. Yes, I got royally dumped by my cat. He only answered to my husband, lol 😹😼😻

Never had a cat that would/will fetch. I’ve known some. I love the pink socks story. I thought cats did not see such subtle colors. Shows you what “research” proves.

My Marshall Too is a "live" ringer for your Max, right down to the white spot on his upper right (left in the picture) lip. Even more interesting, my original Marshall also had the same white spot. After he passed I went to the animal shelter to find a new cat who needed and there he was again with the same identical markings! So I had to adopt Marshall Too! Marshall Too literally spends all his time on an office-type chair right by the sliding glass door where he can keep an eye on the going-ons in the backyard.❤️

Our cats never played fetch. They did bat just about anything and everything under the couch, fridge, stove, etc. Your Max and Piper are so cute.

A grape - that's one I haven't heard about before. And you're right about Piper and the bed

Scott Metzger

I always thought cats didn't fetch at all. I couldn't have been more wrong.

Scott Metzger

Yeah - despite some comments here, I still think cats that fetch aren't very common
