My wife Katrina is a 5th grade teacher and today is the first day of school in her district. My kids go back to school on Thursday. Needless to say the past few days have been a little crazy around my house.

Every year, Katrina asks her students to bring photos of themselves, their families, pets, etc. to put on a poster board. The first four photos in this post are the ones she took to school as examples. The first picture is from our trip back East last month. If you missed it, I wrote a brief post about it here. (Suffice it to say, Katrina is not a fan of lobster.)

The photo of my kids is from a boat tour on Lake Winnipesaukee and the last two are glamour shots of our cats, courtesy of my daughter.

The last image, the raccoon note, is the result of me being hopped up on caffeine. Recently one of my neighbors put a chair on the street corner near our house. People do this from time to time and usually the free stuff gets scooped up quickly.

The chair has been out there for almost two weeks and it's been bugging me. When I drove by it yesterday, I decided to write a note.

It was going to be something simple, like: Dear Neighbor, please get rid of this chair. But I had some caffeine and the note turned into something else. My wife thinks it's too wordy. She's right, but Stan the raccoon had a lot to say.

I stuck it on the chair yesterday afternoon. We'll see if it works.

Methinks Stan is too polite!

Stan’s selfie makes him look more like a badger. Is he a master at undercover work?

Great letter Stan! I applaud your effort at trying to add some levity to the situation.

Scott Metzger

Stan appreciates that because it was a lot of work for him - he can only type 16 words a minute. I'm not sure if levity will work here, but we shall see.

Love all the pics! And Stan is kinda wordy, but point is made. Hopefully the chair has disappeared……😉

I took my daughter to school and saw the chair is gone. Victory!

We are hiking in the Grand Tetons and white water rafting on the Snake River do I just saw Stans’s note. I’m on his side, well said, Stan!

That sounds awesome! I love the Grand Tetons. Enjoy. And the chair was removed a couple days ago. The note worked
