I'm late to the party on Stranger Things. My 14-year-old daughter is a huge fan of the show and she kept telling me that I should watch it. "You'll love it," she said. "Seriously, Dad, you have to watch it," she said. Finally she wore me down and I started watching it a couple weeks ago. And it's awesome.

Part of the reason I like the show is that they nail the early/mid '80s. And the boys are the same age I was back then. I can relate to them (I was almost as dorky as they are. And sadly, I had the same Will Byers bowl haircut in 7th grade.)

At the airport yesterday, I was doodling in my sketchbook and my daughter said, "Dad, you should do a Stranger Things cartoon." So I sketched this idea  (see second image). I spare you the other sketches I did in the airport.

my old siamese did this! the flailing was hysterical. i was laughing so hard it took me a minute to help him get unstuck (bad kitty mom).

Yeah, it's hilarious when they get stuck like that!

Poor Carl! 🤣 My kids got me to watch Stranger Things too. They said we’d love the 80s references. Took my husband and I a bit to get on board, but we also loved it! Haven’t started the most recent season yet, but my son said it is totally worth the binge! 😁

I'm only midway through season 2! I'm terrible at binging - I can only watch 2-3 in a row and that's it. :)

Those episodes are long too, so it takes awhile to get through. And a little “intense”, not something to watch right before bed… lol! 🫣

Oh, poor Carl. I have just started watching it.

Scott Metzger

Yeah, my daughter said it gets more intense in seasons 3 and 4. I'm liking it so far because it has humor to balance things out. If it gets super dark and the humor goes away, I might bail. We'll see.
