It's Opening Day and Throwback Thursday, so here's an old cartoon about baseball along with the original sketch.

My son's baseball season started a couple weeks ago. He's loving it. I volunteered to be the lead on team fundraising and later found out that role also includes taking photos of the players during games. I had no idea that taking photos was part of that role. I'm terrible at taking photos.

So I farmed that out to my daughter, who loves photography. This past Saturday she brought her camera to the game and took about 100 photos of players on the team. We paid her a stipend for her efforts. Everyone wins.

She took 5 pictures of her brother and this is my favorite. It was right after he hit a triple. He was so happy (and I think a bit surprised that he made it to third).

Things have been very busy for me lately so I haven't had as much time at the drawing board as I'd like. New cartoons are coming soon. Have a great day!

That is a great action photo! Your daughter may have a career ahead of her. Plus I’ve always liked Foul Play. Good one for opening day. I’m interested to see what impact the pitch clock will have on the Bigs.

Scott Metzger

Yes! I’m interested in how the new rules will impact the games.

Great photo of your son - a triple is a tough one! The cartoon reminds me of the commentators on Ted Lasso lol.

Kimberly Beckham

That's a great shot. She's got a talent for catching the moment. Way to delegate!

Scott Metzger

Oh I really want to watch Ted Lasso. Heard a lot of great things about that show. Don’t have AppleTV though 😕

Love that cartoon. Lol! Poor cat has a looong game ahead. 😉 I remember the baseball season for my son. My husband always helped out too, and it is very busy between games and practices. Your daughter did great on the photo. Love that smile! Good luck to him this season.

Scott Metzger

Yeah - super busy! My hat is off to the coaches. That’s a serious time commitment. Did your husband coach?

Karen Jagielo

Yes, one season…😳 others, he offered as much assistance as he could. Coaching is big commitment. 👍
