How do your pets react to fireworks? My cat Max doesn't care, my dog Dobby gets VERY nervous (he also doesn't like thunder), and my kitten Piper is unknown (she hasn't experienced fireworks yet). I doubt she'll be bothered by them.

My cats also couldn't care less. I think it's a cat thing. As for the dogs, Sierra (miniature dachshund) has alway been a barker and I don't think she will ever change. The sad thing is that she taught Zoe (pocket pittbull (~40 pounds) to bark. So there is a bit of noise around here. They don't get nervous, they are defending their home! Do you give Dobby anything to calm his nerves? Besides medications, they also make something called a Thunder Shirt that helps with anxiety. I have one that is a size medium, for dogs 26-40 pounds. This was for a previous dog. If you think this will fit Dobby, you can have it. I live in the East Bay so if you want to take BART over, I can hand it to you over the gate.

I give my nervous cat some calming chews, but he still has a hard time. Kids set off fireworks in the street behind our house and they're very loud. Unnerved me and my calm cat, too, last time. 😾

Oh no, one dog teaching the other to bark! We actually tried a ThunderShirt for Dobby last 4th of July and he didn't like it. He hates wearing things. Thanks for the offer tho. As long as we're nearby during the fireworks, Dobby doesn't totally freak out. But we might try calming chews at some point.

My cats were never bothered by fireworks or thunder. Although Chilly did hide during a thunderstorm a couple of times a couple of years ago. 🤷🏻‍♀️ She doesn’t anymore. Good luck this New Year’s with your Dobby and Piper-Max can just sleep through them…😉 Happy New Year to you and your family! 🎉🎉

Our elderly small cat Ollie is not impressed by fireworks or thunder. The big guy, Sammy, is ALARMED by both.

My older dog wants those headphones! Our neighborhood is like a war zone and it was months after this year's 4th of July before she would go outside after sunset. We have some extra drugs on hand for New Year's Eve. Hoping the puppy isn't bothered - she's indifferent to thunder.

Firecrackers AND for years people went out at midnight and fired shotguns. I believe this last is now outlawed in city limits. That being said, there are always those…. A very scary, under the bed night for Sammy.

Oh man. In my wife’s hometown they shoot guns on New Year’s and July 4th. Not good
