Do you like going to art museums? I like it but generally not a fan of modern art.

Don’t care at all for modern art. First (and last) visit to MoMA in NYC saw a giant filled circle on a canvas and another exhibit displaying a piece of string extended with a flashlight positioned behind it to cast its shadow on the wall. Never again!

Haha! You're preaching to the choir. I can't stand that stuff. To me, it comes off as so pretentious. This past December I went to NYC and visited the Guggenheim. I had been there once before, nearly 20 years ago, and I enjoyed most of the art. This time, it was horrible. The whole time I was thinking 'man we should've gone to The Met.'

I just saw the one to the left! The suffering! I completely understand that one, I see it everyday. Or I am notified to it everyday and not in the very nice way.

AND how about Rothko? Red square on half and darker red square on other half of canvas. Sells for millions $. Beyond me!

Exactly! Don't get me started. On the flight back from my New York Trip in December, I watched this documentary called Made You Look: A True Story About Fake Art. It's about the largest art fraud in US history. Rothko's works are prominently featured in the documentary. And I'm thinking, "Millions for THAT??" Excellent documentary though

True! Lol. I'm not much a fab of modern art either I have a partial minor in Art History lol partial because I took a bunch of art hisrory classes for electives in college 😅

I love the "old"? "classic"? art (Van Gogh, Monet, etc) I don't understand modern art, so I have a hard time with it. Went to a modern art museum in Texas while visiting family once. My sis in law couldn't control her laughter...got some very disapproving stares from some of the workers there. ;)

Haha that’s hilarious. I have acted similarly at some art exhibits. I once went to an exhibit where one of the pieces was dog poop spray-painted purple. Really??I do love the masters though.
