Damn Lucy!.. I mean… she isn’t wrong

Paprika

Yikes Lucy

Pel

Hmmm kinda prickly there

transopossum17

Maybe this is it, maybe Lucy has snapped (again)

PAM

Woah! 😮 Damn Lucy!

Snowstar837

Is Sue really? She's opinionated and was hurt that her play was made fun of, but she never came off that way to me.

Becca

Oof that statement might not have landed quite right 😬

Zambies

Damn that was kind of mean, ONG IS LUCY GOING TO BLOW UP THE LAST OF HER RELATIONSHIPS THIS CHAPTER ?

Arctic

Honestly as someone who has PTSD, your repeating nightmares really do warp your view of reality and your brain will conflate the real life person in them with the one you see in your nightmares and we've see how Sue is in those nightmares Lucy has. Never an excuse of course to treat real life people like that, but I really feel for her.

Snowstar837

Dang! I guess this chapter will be about Lucy taking out too much of her tangle of trauma-feelings (towards those who were there during Confrontation) on her friends. I am surprised by everyone saying that Sue is an attention whore. She never came off that way for me. She has her own friends but she doesn't go out of her way to try and get noticed. The cheerleading thing was about her wanting to prove she "wasn't a loser" to Stacy, not about getting attention in general. She can be abrasive and opinionated sometimes, sure, but that doesn't automatically mean "attention whore". I think Lucy is intended to be in the wrong here.

Becca

Though maybe that was the intended effect

Relathain

Fucking damn, Lucy. And that smile makes it clear she wants to twist the knife.

Fiver

Ok so this is going to be a day of Lucy just speaking her mind for once. And like, actually mean the things she ssaying

Xantox the floof

All I can think about is "don't fall asleep" is a good first lesson

Lykky

Damn

M.L. Scotland

Oof. This is gonna be one of those chapters huh

Steven Marshall

Good news: Sue is finally free her crutches! Bad news: Lucy is immediately going for the jugular and making her feel insecure I can already tell this is going to be one of THOSE chapters. Prepare for the inevitable drama fellow readers.

Antares

Lucy i think you need a nap honey

Sometimes a Badger

This all feels ominous. I find Sue hard to get behind sometimes, but she never came off as desperate for attention. Up until a few pages I wasn’t entirely sure what it was that Lucy was hung up about. With everything we’ve seen it feels like a maelstrom is due to arrive and all this nice weather is just a mask. Goodness. Stay safe, emotionally-heightened cat people.

Crossbreeze

Oh Lucy... this is not the way....

Kiall Vun Myeret

Please Sue, please start noticing that this person you always stick your neck out for does not care for you at all. It hurts to see her just casually brushing something like this off. She had no problem telling Mike off when he stepped out of line

SCD

Yes you are, Sue!

Metal Raven

So there’s an intermission chapter between 36 and 37 called Out of The Frame where Sue forms the Roseville High Neglected Club. Sue was jealous that she couldn’t sit at Lucy’s table, once she was invited she disbands the club. When Lucy calls Sue an attention whore that was the first thing that came to mind. Personally think she has her moments where I’d agree with you and moments like this where I think of Out of The Frame, so I guess we’re both right?

LackLuster

Oooos, that might slipped out

Snowstar837

I always took that as a joke about the background characters and not a serious representation of her character, especially as it happened once, partially as a big nod to the fan-inspired early background characters, and never again

Yummy

this could be about something

Rocky Wolfknight

Why do I feel like this is the start of everying going downhill?

Kirk Findlay

Lucy letting out her own pent up frustration? Hmmmm, good or bad. I doubt it will end well. Or is this some subconsious way to make everyone leave her alone? She clearly didn't like having to be around them, but it was all so Augustus would feel comfortable giving her space. Like ya, that was mean. But Lucy really is pushing it a bit. And I wish people would take off the kids gloves with her, Mike as more obvious outburst, especially more recently, but everyone was willing to let him know. But her being a bitch too can't be just excused by "She's been through stuff: forever.
