Iam the biggest Rock fan. He is my favorite wrestler of all time. Although I want to see Rock vs Roman but the way they did it made Cody Rhodes look like a complete idiot. You mean to tell me Cody wins the Rumble and then just step asides and gives it to The Rock. After his main goal since coming back to WWE 2 years ago was to win the title his father never did and having that heartbreaking lost to Roman at last years WrestleMania. Talk about character sabotage. TKO/WWE Politics is a nasty game

1996 was when the rock debuted as Rocky Maivia and he was force pushed like Roman Reigns and the fans pushed back against him hard. They hated him, chanted “Rocky sucks!” and “Die Rocky Die” any time he showed up. He eventually repackaged, joined the Nation of Domination, and morphed into the goat we all know now. Fun fact, Kurt Angle crafted his debut character to be like Rocky’s debut character in order to be hated, he wanted to debut as a heel.

In the end of this Raw Drew attack Cody and let in laid out in the ring. Note: In 1996 the caracther of Rock name was Rocky and everybody hate in and the fans chant Rocky sucks every week, after a while he change the name to Rock and with great promos the crowd start cheer for him

Bunny, when Michael Cole said "is it 1996 again?" is because back then, The Rock was easily one of the most disliked wrestlers in the entire WWE roster. Around that time was when the audience started to care more about complex characters and badass anti-heroes like "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. And back then, The Rock was not the one you know today. He wasn't even "The Rock". He was using the ring name "Rocky Maivia", which was a combination of his father's ring name "Rocky Johnson" and his grandfather's ring name "Peter Maivia". Back then, Rocky was a bland babyface with no character other than "smiling" and "looking happy". This worked well in the 1980's, but by 1996, audiences's tastes had changed. Hell, audiences became increasingly hostile, even chanting things like "Die, Rocky, Die!". After Rocky got injured, he pushed to turn heel, and he joined a group known as The Nation of Domination, and there's where "The Rock" character was born. Rocky was allowed to vest his real frustrations on the mic, which helped him become the talker he is now. By 1998, audiences began cheering him HEAVY despite being a heel. But now, The Rock has become yet again a disliked figure, this time for... obvious reasons. Back then, it was because his character was bland. Now, its because, at 51 years old, The Rock just stole Cody Rhodes's hard-earned WrestleMania main-event and hijacked his story with Roman Reigns.

I like how Drew doesn't even sound genuine, he's just desperate to get Cody out of his way

Yea that’s my only issue with it. Cody shouldn’t have won the Rumble. I said it at the time and it’s doubly true now. I’d much rather see Rock vs Roman than Cody vs Roman again, and if they wanted to go with Cody they could have built to it in the next two months. I thought Gunther was the best choice and Punk the second best (though in hindsight his injury woulda made that problematic). I was rooting for Cody and his story last year, but they missed their chance. He and it got stale to me over the past ten months.

Honestly, it's kind of sad for me. Some of my earliest memories are from watching the Rock back in the early 2000s, having barn storming matches with Triple H, Stone Cold and Kurt Angle. And I remember loving the Rock at the time and thinking he was the best thing since sliced bread. But as a teenager, I started to see a different Rock; a Rock that turned up in the WWE every two or three years, cut the same promo he's been cutting since 2002, buries an active wrestler, and then leaves again for another three years (all the while telling us how happy he is to be 'home' and even once directly promising 'I give you my word I will never go away again'...and then he did). I don't hate the Rock for going to Hollywood. Ultimately, that's the career path he wanted and that's nobody else's business. But I have started to resent him coming back for these periodic appearances, so roided up and carrying so much weight he gets tired standing still and is gassed out for every promo. They feel intrusive and I'm usually quite glad when he leaves. But THIS is a new low. And it's a horrible decision. I feel this is all ego and the Rock muscling in to have his last ever match, and is HAS to be at Mania, and it HAS to be against Roman, and it doesn't matter if he's derailing years worth of story. This match is going to be shit on worse than Brock Lesnar vs Goldberg. Who on earth thought that a guy who left the company twenty years ago (aside from sporadic appearances) could just waltz in and supplant the top babyface in the company whose journey we have been following consistently for several years now (much longer, in fact, than the Rock was even wrestling for), and get a positive reaction by pushing him aside? This is the WWE leveraging nostalgia against substance. And it's not paying off well for them.

Stay Calm People it is all a Storyline The Main Event Of Wrestlemania is Gonna Be Cody Vs Roman Reigns With Special Referee The Rock Or A Triple Threat Match Cody Vs Roman Vs Rock , Seth Goes Against Drew McIntyre

Hey Bunny are you gonna react To More Royal Rumble's?

.

McIntyre is really manipulative. He only wants Cody to finish the story so that he can fight Seth at mania 😂

Alessandro

WWE has noticed this and they are correcting the situation regarding the WM main event (maybe this whole thing was a work from the beginning or it was probably something done to ward off rumors of the Vince McMahon lawsuit and also to make Cody even more over). Yesterday came out also the news that WWE would like Punk to comment while he's injured (probably on Nxt where is currently missing Booker T or even on SmackDown, I don't think they'll propose him on Raw because Drew McIntyre would be there and having a storyline with him currently to resume this summer when he returns to the ring, it wouldn't make much sense since Drew would want to attack him if he sees him)
