WWE wasn't scrambling to change plans because of crowd reception lol, WrestleMania is booked and planned out months in advanced. They worked the crowd into believing it wasn't happening, kinda like the Daniel Bryan story

It is planned months in advance but they can change plans on the fly. I think they did this to avoid the same reaction as the Goldberg vs Lesnar match

Sure, but that was different circumstances. The crowd knew Goldberg and Lesnar were done after that match so they booed them out of the building. Here, we have Cody and Roman concluding their story. WWE is all about drama, you can't have Cody win the Rumble in January and do nothing until WrestleMania in April. You need to build the story with the UPS and DOWNS to get people riled up and really want to see the babyface defeat the heel who tried everything to keep him away from the match. It's classic storytelling. It's basic storytelling.

Bullshit lol. Why would Cody voluntarily step aside for The Rock last week on Smack down then change his mind a week later while offering zero explanation? If it was the plan all along why would The Rock and Roman have a super intense staredown then be buddy buddy a week later? Makes zero sense and it's obvious they changed the direction of the show on the fly. They were afraid of the fans hijacking the shows and Wrestlemania turning into a disaster like the main event of WM 32.
