Just for some context. The heroic spirits / servants that are summoned to the holy grail war gets "buffed" based on their class. So for Gilles de Rais, regardless of his prowess as a mage in life, will have his abilities pushed to the extreme. To say that Rin is outclassed would be an understatement, no living mage would probably stand a chance. This is also why even ridiculously strong fighters like Kirei have to avoid getting into fights with servants - because those are simply on a different level. I honestly love these two episodes. Having a Rin-focused episode is great, but the entire talk of kingship is possibly one of the biggest highlight moments in Fate/Zero for me. Rider definitely laid it into Saber hard, but I think it was because he felt insulted by her wish, because it is essentially the opposite of everything he stands for. That being said, I don't think any of them are objectively right, they just have different ideals - Rider definitely has the most commanding presence though, and coupled with his surprising eloquency he completely dominates Saber in their discussion. Fate/Stay Night adds some more context to the whole debate, and watching you watch this makes me more eager to you hopefully playing it someday maybe(tm). Also for additional context - Rider's noble phantasm was described as a 'Reality marble', which funnily enough gets a joke reference in higurashi (Irie's maid reality marble iirc). It is basically one of the highest levels of magecraft, and is both extremely taxing to the user, but also really powerful - and it is unusual that a Rider class would have something like that, it is something you'd normally only expect to see in a Caster class. I guess Iskandar is just that cool ;) Speaking of, I'm not sure if you already realised this, but Iskandar is the persian name for Alexander the Great, one of the biggest conquerors in history, and is widely considered one of the greatest military commanders to have ever lived. He was from around 300 BC, while King Arthur is around 600 AC, so him and Saber would be around 900 years apart (also his conquest started in Greece and went east, so in the complete opposite direction of Britain). Between him, Saber and Gilgamesh we have some real heavyweight heroic spirits in this grail war, historically speaking.

I will say it's a bit grand of Iskander to talk about how his army respected him and how he was a great king, but in real life, by the time Alexander the Great died a large portion of his army absolute loathed him because of how far he was pushing them.

Valikdu

Since Assassin is now gone, it won't be a spoiler to say that its identity was, well, the Assassins (Hashashins) collectively. But that's not really relevant (like Assassin itself kind of wasn't really relevant).

My favorite filler

If you looked into who Gilgamesh was and his epic, you’d be more understanding of his position. To sum it up, he’s a demi-god created solely for the purpose to oversee/rule humanity. It’s quite literally his only purpose for being created. As far as his treasury and his arrogance, he is the king of heroes, as in he’s the first hero in human history, and he has collected all of the known treasures during his time, which were then dispersed/copied/stolen from his treasury… so technically anything conceived by man is his due to the original already being in his collection; the ones that aren’t were either stolen from him or an imitation of the original. I highly suggest watching a breakdown of Gilgamesh since he’s by far one of the best written character in all of anime and his popularity shows it
