Friends! I recently had a post about the futility of existence. You wrote me a lot of nice words. It's very inspiring. Thank you very much! I'm working on the game with great enthusiasm again. I have a lot of plans and ideas! Now I want to tell you a little about global and local plans.

I thought a little about the priorities in my future work. As you probably know, Bright Past is already close to version 1.0. You often ask when this will happen and whether this will be the end. I'm also slowly working on another project. So...

Bright Past.

I decided that for the near future my priorities will remain here. In the first half of 2025, I plan to release version 1.0 on Steam (exclusive information for you). This does not mean the end of the work. I want 1.0 to be functional and have endings. Then I plan to support the game, add new content and fix bugs. For you, my patrons, everything will remain as before. You will get the latest version every time, and the Steam version will be public.

Short-term plans: I am currently working on an event that will conclude the story of Ash and John. I conceived it as a simple small quest, but in the process the story acquired a scope, including a prison, a cemetery, plot twists, etc. I am a little excited when I think about what will come out in the end.

I also had an idea to reward the oldest and most generous patrons. There are already 2 people who have donated more than $ 1000 over the entire time! This is some kind of madness. Each of these patrons will receive a cameo NPC in the Bright Past. These will be random background characters with a couple of lines. I hope the heroes will enjoy it.

New project.

Working title "Project Esterium". Last month, I spent almost 2 weeks on it, taking a break from the Bright Past. This will be something completely different. In real life, I like to play tabletop RPGs, and I always wanted to create something fantasy. The result is a text-based RPG with an open world. It sounds big, yes.

I'm going to distribute the new project on a separate Patreon page. Firstly, it is very different from the previous one in every way, secondly, other people will help me with it, thirdly, Patreon is very unstable, and any page can be banned at any time, so this will be a little bit of an insurance policy. I hope to present you the first demo of this game soon.

For now, this will be a "free time project". My main focus is still on the Bright Past.

Thanks again to everyone for the kind words. Thank you for the ideas you send. Believe me, I read and think about everything. Sometimes interesting thoughts come across. And thank you for still staying with me!

Will the release version also be available on itch? Because in my country (Germany) there are no such games on Steam. I played the public version on itch and I love it.

Will buy on steam at launch to continue supporting content. Thank you. It's a great game

Your dedication to this game for so many years is nothing short of amazing. You've shown a passion for not only the game's development but also for enhancing the quality and improving the content of the work you had already done. It's been a wonderful trip watching Alex's journey and fulfill her dreams. That said :)...I was disappointed to read that you'll be spending another nine months working on Bright Past. For me the story is over. I've already done five or six complete play throughs of the game. I really don't want to do it again. Looking forward to the new project. It's quite a departure from Bright Past for sure. It's a genre I do enjoy and there is some excellent work currently being done there. I know you'll bring your own perspectives, dedication, and quality to the new endeavor.

I have been in and out of Patreon, but continually come back here. Bright Past is a terrific game and I must give you props on all the work you have done. I have played through at least 5 times now and would love to see this continue to expand. Ash, the library girl, the girl in the store and her problem, Flavi....so many more options to see. Looking forward to seeing the new project too. Thank you.

I have some questions, will there be a translation of the game into Italian and will there also be an ending where the story ends not well for Alex, as if she can no longer escape and becomes one of the prisoners? thanks for the reply

kosmosgames

I will probably add machine translation to Italian in the future. I am not sure if Alex will become a prisoner in the future. But who knows.

Ok, congratulations on how you always manage to improve a masterpiece.
