As soon as Sai came back looking troubled Danzō knew that something had gone wrong, the leader of Root didn’t waste any time grandstanding and immediately moved to debrief the boy and what had been said put everything Danzō knew into perspective, he would like to call the rogue Uchiha a liar but he had revealed information about Sai that indicated that the power of the Sharingan was even far greater than Danzō had suspected, to see the truth of things, to see memories, in their world surrounded by shadows and lies it was almost as strong as the ability to evade death.

The message was very informative and it put into perspective the last message the third had received from Itachi about a man leading a hunt for the tailed beasts but to think that the supposedly dead student of the Fourth would be capable of such feats was almost inconceivable, the reports about the strange movements of the Uchiha in the years leading to the escape of the Nine-Tails and beyond were always suspect in his eyes.

Danzō knew that someone was doing something they shouldn’t and he suspected that a conspiracy was brewing in the clan and that it resulted in the idea to rebel but if what Sasuke said was true then everything was being manipulated so that Konoha would lose the only people capable of facing a man that could control the tailed beasts, there was also the possibility that he was lying but Sasuke gained nothing from it, it was so unbelievably stupid to say something so outlandish that it could only be truth or the most stupid lie in the world.

“Tell me did Sasuke Uchiha look like one of Orochimaru’s cultists?”

“He was dressed in the style, but he clearly had no respect for him, he was demanding and disrespectful Sasuke didn’t exhibit any of the traits commonly found in those who follow Orochimaru”

Danzō let out a hmm as he processed what had been said, Sasuke’s drive for more power was known even as a Genin and in retrospect it was no surprise that someone with such lust for power would look for a teacher like Orochimaru, if only Kakashi hadn’t become such a disappointment they could have kept Sasuke in the village, at least it looked like the boy had some loyalty left as he delivered the information to a person that could actually do something about it and the fact that Sasuke wanted Kakashi to know indicated that there was still some affection for his former teacher.

Perhaps Tsunade’s decision to keep the boy as someone who was kidnapped was the right one would have to spread the information he received far and wide so that Itachi could receive it without anyone suspecting anything, it would also cast doubt on the other members of the organization that Obito was leading as Madara Uchiha.

This was going to be a lot of work but it would be well worth it in the end if those that threatened the stability of Konoha perished to infighting, or perhaps he should wait until the rest of the villages lost their Jinchūriki then he should act but by then it might be too late, already Suna has been hit and their Kage while still powerful doesn’t have the boost that the Ichibi gave him.

“Sir…” that Sai spoke out of turn instead of remaining quiet was not a good indicator of his obedience but at this point removing him from team seven would be difficult and it would require him to answer questions that Danzō would rather keep to himself.

“You’re dismissed, give Sasuke’s message to Kakashi and see how he reacts…if it looks like he would do something rash inform me immediately” after lowering his head in submission Sai left to carry out his orders leaving Danzō to plan out his next move and he had yet to choose what he should do with the information provided by Sasuke.

For the first time in a while, Danzō felt like he understood why Hiruzen chose t do things as he did, the burden of leadership increased in the light.

Sakura Haruno

Despite the failure that was their mission Sakura wasn’t overtly sad about it, sure it would have been great if Sasuke came back with them but the fact that he recognized that she was a woman overshadowed the feeling of failure and it gave her hope that one day he would come back to Konoha. The same couldn’t be said about Tsunade who received the rather distressing news that Sasuke was strong enough to just knock out shinobi as strong as Yamato with a look or that he could subdue Naruto by blinking at him something that the blond was still very sullen about.

Sakura was ignoring the conversation happening around her and focused on remembering the feeling of Sasuke’s fingers on her skin and she trembled in want at the phantom sensation.

“Sakura would you care to share what you think about the mission?” Tsunade’s bust did a little bounce as she turned to her and Sakura had to clamp on the innate feeling of jealousy that came at watching just how gifted her master was “…also were you drooling just now?”

The arched eyebrow that Tsunade gave her said more than any word she could have said and Sakura did her best to discretely clean the corner of her mouth before answering the question.

“I think it wasn’t a total loss, Sasuke didn’t seem to care about Orochimaru, it looked like he remained with him for the Jutsu he was teaching him and…” Tsunade waved a hand at her to continue “He wasn’t as hostile as before I think that some time away has mellowed him out, he also expressed some interest in my body…”

There was a pause as the rest of the room turned to look at her and Sakura couldn’t help but blush at the kind of attention she was receiving. Yamato looked as confused as Naruto but Tsunade had a look that indicate that she probably knew why Sakura had been so distracted.

“What do you mean he ‘expressed interest in your body’?” Shizune asked her as she arrived from behind Sakura.

Sakura tried to avoid looking anyone in the eye as she answered “Well, Sasuke took some time inspecting my body as Yamato can attest, he- umm, he commented that I had grown a lot and that while he would prefer if my breasts were bigger he found my hips perfect for breeding”

Naruto was the first to react and the whole village probably heard his exclamation of “THAT BASTARD!!!”

“Tsunade-Sama” Yamato interrupted her before she could continue and after a nod from the hokage he spoke again “What Sakura says is true but I think it was some kind of misdirection from Sasuke, while speaking to me he revealed several things that no one besides Kakashi-Sempai or Danzō should know. I fear that he can learn anything in our minds through some kind of genjutsu, I wouldn’t recommend sending any shinobi or kunoichi with sensitive information after him”

“The powers of the Sharingan have always been shrouded in mysteries and legends so it is possible, but sendind low-level ninja after someone capable of easily beating Yamato…”

“Perhaps it would be better if we kept this mission ourselves so that no one else can be used as a method of gaining information, we could even test how much control Sasuke has over his power by feeding us false information without us knowing” Yamato says as he looks at Naruto who appears ready to go back to Kusa to beat Sasuke.

“Sakura you need to stay, the rest of you can go” Sakura is not looking forward to this conversation but she would prefer to have it now rather than later. As Naruto and Yamato leave Tsunade takes out a bottle of Sake.

“Tsunade-Sama I want you to know that my feelings don’t compromise me in anyway. I-“ Sakura is interrupted by a rather loud snort coming from her master.

“Sakura, there isn’t anyone in your team that isn’t compromised in one way or another. I ordered you to stay behind because I want to ask you something rather embarrassing.”

“Embarrassing?”

“Have you thought about what it would mean to marry Sasuke? He is the last Uchiha and rebuilding his clan would be a priority for him and while I have no doubt that you could give him lots of children it probably won’t be enough for him and the rest of the village would be overjoyed if he took some women as concubines to breed a new Uchiha clan”

Sakura hadn’t thought of that but surely there was no way that the women of the village would so easily let such a thing happen. Sakura was about to voice her opinion but Tsunade started speaking again.

“You might think that no woman would let herself be treated as a lesser but there would be prestige and fame for those who gave the world a new generation of Uchiha, not to mention that many would want the police force back in short order. You weren’t born yet but before the Nine-Tails rampage, the village knew that they could trust the Uchiha to look out for them. Too prideful to take bribes, too rigid to bend the rules for anyone, and more importantly, too strong to defy openly. Many miss the days when the symbol of the Uchiha clan was clearly seen in those who take care of the village”

Tsunade poured some sake into a cup and passed it to Sakura before pouring a drink for herself.

“You have to ask yourself if what you want is worth what you will lose” after she said the words Tsunade drained her cup and a tense silence took over the room.

Sakura had never doubted the wisdom of her master before and this time she would have to decide if her childhood dream was worth the price. As Sakura stared at the cup she realized that she didn’t know if it was but once Sasuke was back she could figure it out.

[Land of Sound, Orochimaru’s Main Lab]

Sasuke Uchiha

There had been consequences to my theatrics, some expected like the fact that Kabuto tried to be as far away from me as possible without insulting me to my face and like Orochimaru testing me more harshly through repeated combat spars against as many shinobi as he could get his hands on, and some unexpected like the level of study that Orochimaru suddenly gave me as he tried to explore the limits of my Sharingan without being too obvious about his desire for my body (thankfully it wasn’t sexual desire). On another note the disconnect I felt at killing people was something strange but it was better than me puking my guts out in a place where people would try to take advantage of my perceived weakness but I feared that this was one of the side effects of the Sahringan or maybe I was just being so traumatized that I didn’t recognize it as trauma.

I was leaning more at this being one of the Sharingan things, something like more aloofness at strange people but hyperfocus on the familiar as to cause the most emotional pain possible to trigger the next step of the eyes. Despite all the science and aliens later in the world, there was still some mysticism and I couldn’t discount this as not being part of the ‘magic’ side of the world. That reminds me that if I don’t want to deal with the whole Boruto mess I just need to stop Kaguya from being unsealed.

Which is a shame, but goddess pussy isn’t worth several invasions of body-snatching aliens or fighting dinosaurs (god just thinking about it is making me want to die). I shook my head to clear the horrible fighting from my head before I stepped into one of the labs that house Orochimaru’s main experiments, the half-grown monstrosities are the failed subjects, and thanks to some convincing Orochimaru recalled Karin from the base she was in, and put her in charge here.

Despite not showing it, Karin is one of the smartest people in the world, smart enough to perform experiments on behalf of Orochimaru and smart enough to be trusted with recapturing Suigetsu.

Author note: i hate leaving you like this but i don't really have time to continue the scene(work calls and i must answer) so next chapter we have the first lewd of the story and the Kakashi reaction to end the chapter, also I'm thinking of putting part of the filler stories in here because holy fuck Shippuden happens in like a year (which i never thought of but makes sense in retrospect) and i don't want this story to end too soon or for it to feel rushed.
