[Vale, Runestone]
Daemon Targaryen
I was living the life despite being in a medieval setting the fact that I now had to work for nothing and I could spend hours of my day just beating the shit out of people in a yard, fucking my wife in the afternoon made everything just so satisfying and best of all I was now a hero! My name would live forever, it was strange having a legacy while alive but the admiration and respect of the people I ruled over sure made it easy to accept. I think I know why the original Daemon went all arrogant if this is how people treated him all the time, well, at least those who liked him.
Now all I needed was a dragon and everything would turn out just right, I turned around in bed and stared at Rhea as she slept, the dignified lady of Runestone was nowhere to be seen, her hair was a mess, there was a line of drool escaping her mouth and she was slightly snoring and for some damn reason, I wasn’t turned off. We had spent a year together, we slept together every day and worked together without trouble. I was starting to fall in love with her and that could be dangerous for my health, Runestone wasn’t that important in the grand scheme of things if I stayed with her I could die early but that could change, I knew a lot of things that could be helpful, things that would revolutionize travel just like I had done with agriculture, I could make Runestone an important player in the game but was it worth it?
All I would do was even the playing field against the other players but if I used my ideas with the backing of a powerful house I would strengthen my position so much that losing would be almost impossible. The thought wouldn’t leave my mind and I couldn’t go back to sleep, it didn’t matter, morning was approaching and it would make little difference if I got off bed right now.
I dressed up just enough to consider myself decent and that meant a pair of pants, despite not being interested in their advances I liked the way women stared at me now, the naked desire in the eyes of the maids did wonders for my ego but alas I was a married man and I would hold onto my vows for as long as they lasted. Sighing in resignation at the fact that I couldn’t stop thinking about my marriage I walked outside the room where Willam was waiting for me.
“Daemon I was about to wake you up!”
“I’m surprised you’ve been demoted from knight to maid Willam” I said in the most serious tone I could.
“I’m not going to dignify that with a response,” Willam said as he passed a letter to me “This arrived from Dragonstone, we don’t know what it says but if it’s important you better tell my father”
With that Willam left, and I moved back into the room to have some privacy as I read the letter. Immediately I recognized my brother’s writing.
To Ser Daemon the Dragon Knight
I can’t tell you how proud I am of you Daemon, even if it’s somewhat strange to think that my little brother now has an epithet, I know that things have been different between us since I declined to support you before but I’m glad that you’ve sent gifts to my wife and daughter, I think that means that you finally started to forgive me but a gift isn’t better than a letter and I would like to speak with you regularly again.
I winced at that last part, I wasn’t accustomed to sending letters and I didn’t think that my silence could be misunderstood as anger, with how busy I had been in Runestone I had forgotten about it and I assumed my father was thinking the same as Viserys but I could fix that easily enough. It was also surreal that I was being called the Dragon Knight, I was trying to steal that title for myself but hardly expected to gain it so easily, now I felt like a proper fantasy protagonist. The only thing missing was a harem but despite what anime has shown me it’s neither easy to acquire nor to maintain.
That being said, I would like to make amends with you in person, so I extend an invitation to you and your lady wife to come to Dragonstone so you may both relax and so you can tell me all about your adventure into the mountains of the Vale. Also as a personal request, I would like you to bring more of those moving toys that you sent before to Rhaenrya my little princess is far too fond of those wheeled horses you sent before, and despite not being able to understand the world around her she enjoys pushing them around and to be truthful with you brother, I also enjoy playing around with them.
Always willing to help, Prince Viserys Targaryen
I laughed at the image of my grown brother playing with the little horse toys I had commissioned for Rhaenrya, they were so unimportant that I barely even remembered them. While I had been working on the farms, who someone had started to affectionally call Daemon’s Steps, I noticed an unusually talented worker that was making a toy for his son out of a piece of good, I thought it a good trinket or gift and commissioned several from him as well as some wooden wheels that anyone competent in woodworking could put at the feet of the horses.
I started sending them to Viserys or rather to the baby Rhaenrya as they were completed, obviously, time and practice made the latter models more sturdy and better designed meanwhile I had sent several perfumes made from wildflowers to Aemma. Those were more difficult to make but were part of my plan to start a business in Runestone, something that fell to the wayside since I started focusing on the mountain clans.
That reminded me that the problem with the perfumes was still there, if I wanted to make them last longer then I needed ethanol or alcohol and despite remembering some things I wasn’t as academically inclined towards chemistry as I was with architecture or history. I snapped out of my thoughts and smiled I had a trip to embark on and the first thing I needed to do was to wake up my wife.
Perhaps it was in poor taste but the playful side of me thought nothing bad could happen if I did it, so I went for the pitcher of wine that we had in the room and promptly dropped all of its contents onto Rhea’s head.
The way she flopped around in bed as she startled herself awake was something that I wouldn’t be forgetting soon, the confused face she made was what got to me in the end and I started laughing.
“Daemon! Why did- Stop laughing! Daemon!”
I ignored her pleas but I did control myself somewhat.
“Look at the mess you made, you’ve left me all drenched Daemon” the reproachful tone would have worked before but Rhea gave me an opening with her words.
“You’re right normally you’re the one making a mess” slowly I approached the bed while talking in a more subdued tone “but since I was the one that left you drenched then I can do nothing else but take responsibility.”
Rhea blushed at my words before swatting my arm “You brute! Scoundrel!”
“You’re missing dashing rogue and lover” without hesitation I captured her lips with mine quieting down any protests she had with a liberal application of tongue, once I was satisfied with the kiss I let go of her lips and admired the sight of a flustered Rhea whose heaving chest gave me a tantalizing view of her tits “While I would love to continue with this I have some news to deliver, my brother has invited us to Dragonstone and I would like to get there as soon as possible and that means…”
Before I continued I lifted Rhea from the bed taking her in a princess carry and just to make things better I passed my tongue through her neck cleaning a little bit of wine that I had spilled there “That you need to clean up since you’re dripping wine everywhere”
“And whose fault is that?! You’re a menace Daemon! A danger to every lady in the realm!” Rhea was saying that but she was the one pushing her tits to my face so I could lick the drops of wine that were there, if I didn’t need to prepare some stuff I would have stopped the teasing and just taken her as I wanted.
“Yes but luckily for you, I have things to prepare, I have to warn your uncle and I have to make sure that a ship is ready to take us to Dragonstone on short notice”
Rhea pouted when she realized I wouldn’t be having my way with her but that didn’t stop me from taking a few liberties with her body as I left her in the bath.

Rhea Royce
Daemon was running around Runestone leaving orders for what to do and how to take care of the farms he helped build, he was also leaving one of the landed knights that he took into his service in charge of the ‘militia’, her uncle said it was a waste of time but Daemon pointed out that even if it was this would keep the peasants busy and it was better that they had some training in case of raids by the mountain clans. Those had become a true rarity in Runestone and across Gulltown so much so that the people of Gulltown now came directly to Runestone to ‘complain’ as Daemon put it.
That was both good and bad, good because it showed the confidence everyone had in her family’s rule and bad because the lords of Gulltown were not happy to be losing people to them as several new villages had started to be made inside Runestone’s borders, Daemon’s farms and the protection of the knights of runestone as well as the training her husband was willing to provide the peasants made moving closer to Runestone a better prospect than staying in Gulltown.
If Runestone kept growing then Daemon’s plans for a port wouldn’t be far off making any attempt at diplomacy with house Grafton impossible, it wouldn’t surprise Rhea if Lord Grafton was gathering support to stop the growing power of her lands but it would surely be for naught as Daemon was son to the heir of the Seven Kingdoms. All of this showed her just how smart her father was, Yorbert Royce had taken control of the eastern part of the Vale just by marrying Rhea to Daemon and as the Protector of Vale he had unparalleled influence in the rest of the Vale.
Rhea was sure that when Jeyne came of age she would be put under her charge or Rhea would move to the Eyrie to support her but it would be just another excuse to put the Vale under house Royce’s control, her father hadn’t been subtle in his requests for grandchildren and while Rhea knew her father loved her and would love to see her children before he died, she was also sure that he wanted Rhea to have at least two sons as soon as possible, one to rule Runestone and one to marry Jeyne.
House Royce’s words ‘We Remember’ are not only a warning towards their enemies for any slight imposed on them but a reminder to all members of their house that once upon a time it was house Royce that Ruled the Vale. Rhea hadn’t noticed it before but her father was working to undo what happened when the Andals arrived, Yorbert Royce had been moving everything to their house into the leading power of the Vale.
Rhea would make sure that her father’s efforts weren’t wasted but she would refrain from mentioning it to Daemon, she loved her husband but his brother was married to an Arryn and while she would trust him not to do anything against them she didn’t think that he would remain silent on the issue.
