Wrestle Me! addresses the nation (again) (Patreon)

Further solidifying Wrestle Me's role as the BBC's official wrestling correspondents (a role I've been asked by the BBC to make clear doesn't and will never exist), Marc (hello! it's me) popped up on BBC Radio 5's breakfast show to have a chat about this weekend of wrestling in Britain with the very nice host Steffan Powell.
I excitedly frothed about AEW, despite Tony Khan not issuing us with any press tickets (which the one year we had, we made it abundantly clear we didn't enjoy having and how it partly ruined being at the show). But this total disrespect for the 3rd biggest wrestling podcast in the world (I don't know if it is, I've just started saying this and no one checks) didn't stop me bigging up AEW, who I still like very much, despite the needless withholding of free comps.
So, I headed out on the nation's airwaves at 8.20am enthusing about wrestling and naming all the companies offering shows this weekend without PAYMENT or BRIBES or COMPROMISING THE PURITY OF MY OPINION. Why? Because I believe in PROFESSIONAL wrestling, Tony Khan. PROFESSIONAL wrestling.
Thanks a million to the show's producer Chris for having me on, and even more so for carving out more time than I've had on previous appearances. In the past year, Chris has seen me scuttling back onto the Patreon and moaning that I only had two minutes, which is a running joke I do, but one which has backfired as I had to do more speaking than usual. YOU SIMPLY CANNOT WIN. Thanks, Chris!
Just in case you're wondering whether I was coming up on a pill, I should say I pitch these chats slightly at people I think won't really be interested in wrestling or largely hate the idea of it (i.e. most of the people listening to the radio) so I sometimes sound a bit blissed-out and overenthusiastic, but I don't think talking about wrestling at 8.21am is the time and place to act all cool.
That said, please don't pick me up on saying "Jackson Jaguars" - I know the NFL team is the Jacksonville Jaguars, but I don't know the questions in advance, there's no notes and I'm thinking of what to say next as I'm speaking the current bit out of my mouth, and my brain decided I didn't have the bandwidth to say the word "ville". Also there's a bit where the word 'dispel' absolutely fucking trips me up, even though I've already said it once and will say it again just afterwards. Personally, I feel like I make up for all these fluffs with my comparison of low-level wrestling with the artworks in the Louvre, which came to me as I saying it and which I will now use all the time.
If you're off to the shows this weekend, have a flipping great time, hopefully see you there, and if by any chance you see Tony Khan, just sidle up to him, tut and sadly shake your head. He'll know what it's about.
Wrestle me, you!

Kanji last night at Pro Wrestling Ceasefire. A really fun little show, the highlight of which was Jordan Saaed doing a conga on his entrance, being pinned with the first move, leaving and doing the conga again, and then coming back at the end of the show to conga everyone out of the venue and into the cool night. I just told Pete about it and it made him tearful with delight.
