Hello everyone!

With April coming up, many things have been worked on here at THG. You'll get some updates on P410, THG, and our sinking animation soon, but we wanted to give our Patreons this preview early.

A new 4K video will be released this Saturday on YouTube:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UqEKnXEV3ok

This video has three significant updates — but many little ones, too!

The first is the polished Titanic model for our animations, which Jack and the team have focused on for about two months. We've shared some images of this model here and on Facebook, but now it's time to see her sailing!

THG researchers have helped Jack correct many errors (as the model is still technically Kyle's old VS model), while some of the THG modelers have sent Jack updated parts to add to the model. Look closely at the rivets and rigging and tell us what else you can see has been updated!

The next update is audio! You'll hear Yip-I-Addy-I-Aye, by H.M. Higgs, by our Titanic band composer Ege Erdoğan! Ege has been composing more music from the band — ones we know were played on the voyage! You can hear a different song in the YouTube video!

The final big update we think you might notice is people! Titanic's decks are no longer empty and bare! Thanks to our fantastic new modeler Pavel, we have sailors, officers, and passengers with more on the way! Jack has given them some simple animations, as these NPCs are fully rigged (there might be a little bug or two to notice with their animations!)

We will mainly use these NPCs for our animatics, so please do not expect them in P401. As Pavel joined the team at the end of last year, it is too sudden to add them properly. However, we'll see what the future of THG holds with his excellent NPCs, which you will see more details of in April!

We must stress that April will have many updates on P401 and THG that we are excited about sharing! We hope you will be just as excited when you hear them!

I like the character models, but they have an odd curvature to their spines while moving that looks unnatural. They should be more or less straight up and down, but the upper body looks like the are leaning slightly backwards. Couple that with the walking animation that kind of makes me think they all have diarrhea. LOL. I know, it's early days and Pavel is doing his best, I'm just noticing they need some tweaking.

Great work guys! Can’t wait for the update in April. 🙉

Thankfully these animations are just temporary! The NPCs are made by Pavel, but the animations are separate entities, animation packs acquired elsewhere and not made for our specific needs or NPCs. For example, the idle animations tend to look more like a shooter game character striking a pose than a 1912 person just standing around. If or when these NPCs are used in THG, we'll look into getting proper animations for them.

P401: I hope we get some information about new areas added for the steam version: 2nd class cabin, rudder stearing engine room, officer/captain quarters, access to all 6 boiler rooms !? Even if those rooms will never be 100% accurate y should make them available.

Looks wonderful fellas! Great work, worth every penny. I'd rather send you my $1,200 a month student loan payments than to those student loan bastards

NPCs bring the ship animations to the next level. I have a question to the team: Is the ship modell y use for animations the one from Project 401 or a different modell? Kind regards, Greetings from Germany :)
