A couple people mentioned how much they enjoy second class spaces, and while this isn't the smoke room nor the library, it's the next best thing. It still has some kinks to be worked out but it's a unique and very interesting space! I love the openness of it all and seeing out onto the deck finally is neat.

This is gorgeous! It must have been a lovely spot to walk upon.

2nd class is my favorite of all the classes. While I still am waiting to see the Library or Smoking Room in glorious daylight, this is definitely a close second. Thank you for sharing this, it looks incredible!

Notice that the Teak Door leading to the exterior is an significantly darker coloured wood than the Light English Oak Wall Panelling. An photo on Titanic Tech at the front of the open Forecastle Deck of the Teak Margain Planking and the two Teak Anchor Chain Sled "running channels" proves that the teak was darker than oak or pitch pine etc for most wood finishes abroad with the exception of especially the First Class Smoking Room with its dark Mahogany inlaid with its decorative mother of pearl detailing type finish!

The ligting in this place make it the best place on the ship in my opinion. It makes it look real, not a CG environment. When the game comes out I think I will spend most of my time arround the Second Class Staircase and the dining saloon. I just love the natural look of the wood instead of the white walls in first class.

I also enjoy the second class spaces. They're an interesting illustration of the trade-offs that were made as the design matured. In a few places Second Class seems to have been on the wrong side of these design decisions. A chain reaction started when the A la Carte Restaurant was added after Design D. I thought it strange that on Olympic there would be a Second Class promenade going past a First Class space. Then I learned that that space was originally intended to be the Second Class Smoking Room. Eventually, the anomaly disappeared with the expansion of the A la Carte Restaurant and the creation of the Cafe Parisien. Second Class also lost out when the Main Mast was added, slicing through some of their public spaces. Still, the massing of Second Class public spaces around two beautiful stairwells and the lovely Second Class Dining Saloon served by the same gigantic galley as First Class shows that Second Class was far from being the poor relation when these adjustments were made. 3D models really help illustrate how dynamic the design process was. I love it.
