Another day, another space for V1.5. Today it's the windlass gear room, which is on C deck, in the bow of the ship, underneath the forecastle.

What is the latest update? Anyone have a link?

That's... That is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen! Can't wait!

Jordan Andrew Scherr

This is going to be one hell of a place to tour. The cutting edge tech of the day was surprisingly advanced!

JL

Beautifully done! Would be really interesting to see it animated.

Jakob Cant

silly question but what is this and what does it do haha

Race

Looks beautiful with the improved lighting over the screenshots we got way back! Very excited

Gil E Davies

Wonderful work you folks are doing!

Willem Louissen

Keep coming, keep coming with the new images… this is so good, I can see us hoist the ankers and mooring ropes

Half-Dude

Awwww look at those little bitty baby steam engines

Matthew Ricchezza

I am a bit confused; what material is represented here as jacketing the cylinders?

EccentricGamerCL

I love that we’re finally getting to see areas of Titanic that are seldom ever talked about.

I look forward to exploring this room when 1.5 is released in 2035 once every room in the ship has been added, perfectly polished and is absolutely 100% flawless

I'm with you! :/ We were getting all kinds of updates up until the end of August and then nothing (yet) for September. I think I speak for everyone here when I say we would appreciate more frequent and regular updates. :/

Race

Been a bit quiet around here…..

Joshua Robertson

I know.... I'm kinda getting worried. On the other hand, it could simply be that they're just too busy working on Demo401 or the Alpha to post an update. In either case, an update (any update) would be nice.

I posted a reply, but it seems like the devs didn't like it and decided to delete it. Unfortunate that they can't take a bit of criticism and decide to delete those comments that don't praise them for their few teaser shots and/or thank them profusely for indefinitely holding back new areas . I'm done with contributing to this "project".

James Penca

Hey guys, James Penca here. Unsure who deleted a comment! But please rest assured that we are working on the game. We try to post updates as often as possible but the game comes first. Please try not to get used to the times when we post every day. Its awesome when we can do this but this is not normal. "Normal" in video game development would be no updates for years until a project is done (I mean, look at GTA6...). While we are NOT Rockstar, we are also trying to make a massive project. 2 projects actually. So yeah, feel free to be hungry for updates but to be worried? Do you think the game got cancelled? Or that we will go silent for a year again? We posted a MASSIVE youtube update less than a month ago and I posted on Reddit two weeks ago and we post on Discord constantly. So yeah! For the future, if we aren't posting as much it's because we are massively busy working on the game. Sorry about the deleted comment.

We're a few days away from our regular monthly update. We cannot promise anything more than that. And to be quite frank, as we are a small indie team, it's quite a bit time drain to do these updates, especially when it comes to video updates, like the one we did last month. I think monthly is more than reasonable, and fits a good balance between size of update and time spent working on the update. Anything additional occurs spontaniously as possible. There were fewer Demo401 update screenshots because the current area being worked on is 2nd Class, which has already been showcased some months ago.

Joshua Robertson

Thank you for the update, James. I can't tell you how much we all appreciate all the work you and your team are putting into this project. :)

"the current area being worked on is 2nd Class, which has already been showcased some months ago..." More polishing on top of the existing polishing, I assume? This is the crux of the problem that I see here. Those 2nd Class areas that were showcased are already in 1.4.x and are already really good. The new areas that have already been teased need...to be...released...ASAP. The majority of ship (all public areas, crew areas, stairwells, mechanical areas and say a dozen cabins/staterooms for each class should be completed in 1.4.x quality and then upgraded over time progressively rather than obsessing over already completed areas.

Derek Verveer

Please read my message again. Those second class spaces were showcased a few months ago, so I will not showcasing them again here on patreon. It wouldn't make any sense. The spaces were essentially complete a few months ago except for a few minor tweaks. -Derek

Very true...there is no reason to showcase those spaces again. I wasn't suggesting that and I apologize if that's how my post came across. What I was trying to convey is the strong belief that a great deal of time shouldn't be spent on endlessly polishing existing spaces that are already in 1.4.x. That time should be spent on getting new spaces (engine room, spiral staircase, crew spaces, the new 1st Class suites, etc) into the hands of contributors. Unnecessary invisible walls (the blocking off of A deck, the blocking off of the Officer's promenade, etc) should also be removed on a priority basis.
