Hey everyone! Derek Here.I know it's technically August, but here we go :PFirst things first, I'd like to mention that we are currently working on another update video. It won't be done for a few weeks, but there will be lots to cool things to show off. With that in mind, this update will be a bit light.Firstly, I know you are all wondering where Demo401 V2.1 is. A while ago I shared that I was dealing with a performance problem. I'm still not entirely sure of the cause, but a while ago I discovered that the problem seemed to be resolved in UE5.2. All seemed well in testing, so I updated the primary project to UE5.2.Unfortunately, it was after that point that I noticed that there was an issue with the lighting in UE5.2. There was a significant issue of overocclusion around edges and in gaps/seams. Any areas that would need lighting rebakes for touchups would be destroyed and not match any of the lighting in areas built in 5.1. An example of the problem can be viewed here: https://imgsli.com/MTk1NTYzThe good news is, this problem seems to be resolved in UE5.3. However, currently that version is only in preview. It is likely a month or two away, and then there will be some time after that to finish up the update and test it. I will keep you all updated on that process. In the meantime, a lot has been happening on my end. We've been making good progress on upgrades for P401. We've worked out a good process for fixing up existing areas, not only for P401, but beyond. Including for a not yet announced collaboration that we will talk about soon. I will work on a behind the scenes video that explains a bit more, this may be part of the update video we are working on, so keep your eyes out for that in a few weeks. In the meantime, enjoy a flythrough of the updated Cafe. This room has not gotten any model updates, except for the plates getting a bit of smoothing. I've done a significant amount of work on the materials, and the lighting has been upgraded. Of course, this is still WIP.Hope to show more soon. Thanks for your support!

Breathtaking the reflection of those plates speechless indeed...

I would love to see the "rudder stearing engine room" under the Poop-Deck/C-Deck added to 401 soon - the deckplans show it verry detailed so after the Forecastle Windlass Gear Room it should be possible to render the other end of Titanic too :)

Looks fantastic but for me personal not No1 priority - lets hope to update all "older objects, furniture items" wont delay the 401 steam release

Steve

Looking good, the plates seem to be floating though and if there were place settings there would be cutlery etc, which I'm sure is coming. Where are gusest welcomed into the room, wouldnt there be a stand/lectern with menus, room numbers, places to pay ie how did crew and guests move through this space? Would food come through the ala carte restaurant?

What a details with the heating at the floor and all the reflections! Keep up the good work 👍🏻
