The faces! The faces are waking up! 
These dream sequences represent the subconscious of the person inside.

• Grace - worships the Divinity's as gods. The world she lives on is built upon the deaths of others. The very floor is made from the dead and the people she enslaved.
• Crusher - cares only about the fight. The loves her place in her life. She literally views herself as above those she terrorizes.
• Whisper views half-elves as being stuck inside a social construct held aloft in a world of violence and blood. The faces are all elves and they stand as giants in comparison to the small and relatively powerless people within the cubes.
