How are we this week? I haven’t found much time to use brain power to do the redesign OCs but worry not, I’m finishing them all, I’m really just doing a lot of zine stuff lately and rewards. I wish I can share them. But anyway, I was thinking more and more how I want the skull to be a love one of Roshe. I realize, aside from 2 of my PMDe characters, I don’t really give my OCs romantic interests. It’s so odd given how hard I ship in fandoms often enough.

No joke, my first-ever PMD OCs were intended from the start to become a romantic couple despite me having no real skill/interest in the genre.

Yea they should be able to! Ultimately up to you though. But yea I am in the camp they should be able to speak with the dead. Though now this has me thinking of some fun ideas.

Romantic relationships have unique interactions that other forms do not have so I can understand. Most of my duos are either familial or platonic. IDK why I'm uninterested with OC romance but go nuts with 2 ships in a cartoon and a game lmao.

Hahaha well the idea is if a necromancer can talk to their dearly beloved and could raise them completely back to life but was actually scared to. Thinking that maybe they are better at peace on the other side, that they aren't really their beloved but the necromancer's memory of the person or worse that the animation simply lets another entity speak through the body and is trying to trick the necromancer into bringing them into the material plane.

Oh yeah this! Also maybe just having their skull and no other part can be a barrier too? Sometimes the dead should stay dead.

Maybe it has to do with the exploration side of it. You get to theorize and dig through all the subtle hints of the relationship between characters in a game/show, meanwhile with OCs there's a much more clear picture if what they're like and how they see each other. For me personally, that sense of definitive understanding is why I feel more comfortable with OC romance than fandom shipping hah.
