Always Use Save As... (Sims 4 & Sims 3, probably Sims 2 as well) (Patreon)

This video of mine is a decade old but it's still relevant! Now more than ever!

Whenever you have any important save you don't want to risk, use Save As. 

You can always delete redundant saves manually later (otherwise your hard drive might get full really quickly).

I'd say I'd use Save As... all the time, personally, but I'd say that the bare minimum I recommend is always using Save As... before closing the game or before changing to another save file.
