And there they are!

This is part 2 of the winter dragon’s tale, scroll back a little bit if you missed the first part!

The next few comics will probably have a minimal amount of background work because jeez I really put my patience to the test with this. Very happy with everything I learned though! Loose scribbling can create surprisingly great foliage!

These are all insanely beautiful! It's so awesome to see how your art keeps improving!

Aw I'm glad it's continued, the last one made me sad 🥺 Love your art ! 🥰

New friend! And the underwater frog drawings are especially pretty!

Secret Person

Oh my gosh this is such a kind followup!!! The art of the pond and environment around it on the first panels is so lovely too, very good painted style and swordfish stands out well in it. That's also such an incredibly good sad laying down pose, the regret on the face, how low the whole body is, and how the tails is dipping into the water. The transition to showing the lovely art of all the wildlife that has collected at the new pond is great, so much very good animal artwork that made me happy. Especially the ducks, partially because I'm biased in favour of waterfowl but also because the ducklings are so fluffy and well drawn! The ending here is heartwarming too, oh I just said the thing. But yeah this made me smile a lot, thanks for your work!

I thought the background of the first frame was a photo!! This is so sweet ❤️

NEW FRIEND? NEW FRIEND? NEW FRIEND?

fishtrout

I think this new friend would rather sleep till next winter!

fishtrout

And he created an entire freshwater ecosystem to live in! :D

It’s really cool to hear how you notice details that I don’t even consciously think about when drawing! Swordfish's pose for example just happened in the process, so seeing someone pick up on it is so awesome. Also, I’m really happy you like the waterfowl! They’re actually snow goose chicks! I wanted to picture wildlife that's native to my own country (Estonia) and realized too late that snow geese are not residents, just occasional migrants here :D Thank you again for your kind and thoughtful comment! I love, love reading them!

fishtrout

Thank you so much! The underwater scenes took the longest, because I don't think I've ever drawn those before :O Had to pull up lots of reference images!

fishtrout

And the frogs are blissfully unaware of everything!

fishtrout

New friend is not overly social I think!

fishtrout

Yess I really wanted it to end on a more hopeful note too! Thank you so much!

fishtrout

I try to push myself out of my comfort zone when working on art, so I'm happy to hear it shows! Thank you so much!!

Mirriky

That's a shame, I was thinking they could have made an interesting dynamic with the other two on occasion while leaving them the spotlight most of the time :P

Mirriky

Well worth the effort, they look stunning
