I’ve been getting into fighting games lately, Dead Or Alive to be specific. Whew.

Any interest among my fine readers for me to dip my toes in that pool at some point? Because I gotta say, these games so far have been giving me plenty in the way of… Let’s say “inspiration”.

On that note, any recommendations for other fighting games/avenues of inspiration? I have Mortal Kombat X and 11 on my Xbox that I haven’t touched much, but not much other than that.

There is barely any good smut with the Dead or Alive women, so i definetly wouldn't be against it.

Arsylvos

Mortal Kombat definitely, Street Fighter and Invincible Vs

Ryswell

I have a desire to rectify that, friend

Ryswell

I appreciate the quick response, will look into these!

David

The only other series i would suggest would be Tekken.

Ryswell

Indeed. I saw all those Cammy pics of her new outfit. The new Street Fighter movie got my attention as well - along with the Chun Li actress’ assets. Thanks for the rec, friend!

Ryswell

Not too familiar with MK, but I can fix that. Any characters in particular you’d suggest giving special attention to?

Fallen

Dead or Alive smut say less!!!

Arsylvos

Milenna, Sheeva, Scarlet, Tanya, are some i would reccomend beyond the main girls of Kitana, Jade and Sonya

Romj

Dead or Alive characters are really attractive but the story is so wack to be honest lol. Then again that’s most fighting games. Wouldn’t say no getting into Street Fighter if you’re interested. Lots of ‘inspiration’ there too.

Dead or Alive? Yes. Soul Caliber? Yes. Fatal Fury? Yes. Mortal Kombat? Yes. Street Fighter? Yes. Why not merge it into one universe? Most fighting games have such bare bones stories that they're all but interchangeable already.

I say go ahead man it will be some good reading.

SpectralTime

It’s kind of orthogonal, but the *Ninja Gaiden* games are in continuity with *DoA* and not every character from them has showed up in it.

SpectralTime

I also like the SNK games; *King of Fighters* is their big crossover game where all the different characters from all their other series show up and at least for the first leg I was most familiar with it had a surprisingly good plot, hampered by atrocious localization.

Ryswell

A massive crossover is certainly in consideration. But we’ll see. Thanks for the recs! I got Soul Caliber VI on a steam sale but never played it. Now I have reason to check it out!

Ryswell

Pretty crazy that DoA 1 doesn’t seem to have a story at all! But it was an arcade game to begin with, so what can you do. Street Fighter is definitely something I’ll be looking into. Cammy, Cammy, Cammy…

Ryswell

I appreciate the confidence you have in me, friend!

Ryswell

So many fighting games, I had no idea. But I’ve been having fun with DoA and Injustice as well. I have to admit, I’ve been missing out all this time. Thanks for the recs!

Vincent Valen

Moooortal Kombat. So many games and timelines (including that one crossover with DC), so many possibilites :D

Hadrian Scipio

I would love to see you add Dead or Alive 6. I would also like Soul Calibur 6 to be added to your lineup.

Ryswell

Under construction in the dream factory, friend!

Ryswell

I know for a fact that one my art render friends LOVES Cassie Cage. Perhaps once I get more familiarized with MK, I'll comm some pieces with her - and others.

Ryswell

Consider both added to my list of extreme interest. Thanks for the recs, friend!

I'm a big fan of Dead or Alive Kasumi/Ayane wincest but imo the most interesting female character in the franchise is Fiend Hunter Rachel. Her lore, taken at face value, is that she's a sorceress bombshell blonde twin sister who solves her problems by making her own weapons (a massive warhammer and an enchanted machinegun), researching ancient languages and making serious "fuck me already" eyes at Ryu Hayabusa. While also being super strong and bulletproof. She and Diana would get along famously. Rachel fits squarely in that 90's Action Girl vibe with Lara, Rayne (Bloodrayne) and Catwoman. So while not a fighting game the Ninja Gaiden franchise and Ninja Gaiden 2 Black gets an honorable mention from me. And I'm linking, because I think it's funny, a reddit poster who censored a bunch of the fighters when they say "fight." https://www.reddit.com/r/DeadOrAlive/comments/1ul0ssi/i_have_no_choice_but_to_f/

I'm partial to DOA given that it is making a comeback. Preferably using Eliot as the MC, and i only say that because of an old fanfic i once read called Eliot harem and some videos made by someone called Dual Face Art (highly recommend btw). I am also partial to KOF or Fatal Fury because SF is always a go to and i feel SNK needs some love too.
