This winter in Los Angeles has been a dreary one for me due to the drought - we have gotten a fraction of normal winter rains, which hasn't given me any chances to tromp around alone on the trail, shooting in lush wet greenery, and dipping into the chilly waterfalls that appear in the local canyons only during those heavy arctic winter storms.

I did make sure to get out there during the one storm we did have, and luckily my beautiful friend Rachel was willing to brave the cold so we could make some images in Millard Canyon just outside the city.
