I remember discovering this a few years back when I did a deep dive on 80s genre (mainly fantasy/scifi/horror) movies that I hadn't seen and looked interesting (watched a couple hundred films I think), including a number of animated films, and ran across little known gems like this and Starchaser. Remember enjoying this (may need to rewatch it), and I remember watching Gandahar as well though I can't remember much about it though remember it being just as weird lol. Hoping to hear you guys cover some other great animated films of that period like Watership Down and Secret Of NIMH, which are a couple of my favorite films, though would understand if you save those for later (especially NIMH which would work well in a Don Bluth series if you decided to do that down the line).

PS A few more 80s animated movies to throw out there: Remember Cargill not being a big fan of Heavy Metal when you touched on it in an earlier episode, but would love to hear you cover that at some point, and then there's The Last Unicorn, Rock & Rule, Brave Little Toaster, Little Nemo, and of course Don Bluths other films like Land Before Time, An American Tail, and All Dogs Go To Heaven. And for shits and giggles could throw in He-Man Secret Of The Sword which I watched recently and was a laugh riot lol

I knew Brian would love this. But I also called that if he'd watched it 10 years ago he probably wouldn't have.

Reminds me of Lightyears from the mid 80s (?). I wonder if they share any connections?

I have not seen every movie that you guys have included on the series for the last 10 years, but this is the first one that I have never heard of in any way shape or form. Kudos gentleman kudos.

Lightyears is the English verrsion of Gandahar, which was directed by the same director, René Laloux (who also directed Fantastic Planet), so there is a connection. 🙂
