RIP 2018

I hope Cargill is right about 2019 because I'm very pessimistic about life right now.

Adam Charles

I watched "Scrooge" for the first time last year (the Ronald Neame musical starring Albert Finney) and that's become my favorite A Christmas Carol. Cargill mentions the horror elements of the Scott version, the Finney one starring Alec Guinness as Marley is unsettling in its sequences. The other one I really wish was more accessible (and was before Filmstruck went south) is A Carol for Another Christmas. Made for TV movie written by Rod Serling, filmed by Joseph Mankiewicz and starring Sterling Hayden featuring Peter Sellers, Eva Marie Saint and Robert Shaw. It's heavy-handed with its United Nations message, but really nails the dourness of the story and sticks to it through to the end.

This is the podcast that made me sign up for Patreon. I fell in such love binging during the summer while preparing for a corporate visit I knew I had to help keep it running.

I'm the same, I listened to all the podcasts and thought Brian needs to be paid for this (I bought Cargill's books and movies too so he got some love too). I'm all in for a romantic comedy month, there's a lot of them out there and there's a better chance I'd get to enjoy those with my wife than a lot of the other movies I love.

I have a potentially controversial junkfood pick from 2018. The live action version of Bleach on Netflix. That movie is so much fun. Hana Sugisaki gave one of my favorite performances of 2018.

RomCom Month: sure, why not?

Every time you guys mention “Family of Cops” the image in my mind is basically a family wearing Axe Cop costumes that they never take off ever.

OKAY, so when Brian gave his answer to “what’s the one gift you really wanted and never got” with “a proton pack” I thought “that’s the most Gen-X answer to that question I could imagine.” And then Cargill gave HIS answer and oh how wrong I was.

Rambo topic. So, is it me or is Trautman the ultimate hype man for Rambo. The dude just hyped Rambo’s resume during the series.

Morgoth

I'm a "No" vote on a Rom Com month. It's my kryptones as well. And episode now and then is good, but all in one month? G'ah! I'm here for the "exploitation and cult" films...the point of the podcast.

Jason Tull

Rom Com sounds good, few favs of mine are About Time, TiMER, and Carolina.

Two rom coms with time in the title?
