Hey Junkies! Someone pointed out that maybe $5/episode for (what's looking like assured) bonus content might be a bit steep. Having never put together a Patreon before, I honestly didn't know what was fair. I have a proposal that I'd like you to weigh in on. What if we introduced a $2/episode option that would have access to some, but not all of the bonus content? I same some because I still want to have extra rewards for those who want to give $5/episode to make their contribution worth it, but I also don't want to price out those who can only do $2/episode. How does that sound? Fair to all? Thanks for the feedback!

Might just be me, but $5 has always been my norm for subscriptions like this. I think the tiers are okay as they are.

Compared to some of the other things I have sponsored in the past, $5 is a bit high for entry level. Most start with a $1 tier, then add in bonuses at higher levels. This way they get the casual listener that wants to support and rewards those that give more than $1. I think you are leaving money on the table by not having a entry level supporter tier.

Tim, there is nothing keeping folks from pledging $1/episode. It's pretty much set up exactly as you described, with the bonuses starting at $5, but we've had a couple of people pledge less and that's totally fine. My question was whether we should offer some kind of bonus at those $1/$2 entry levels. Thanks!

Patreon is an amazing idea, because it means content consumers such as ourselves can reward the awesome content of our favourite creators like Bryan and Cargill. I've been a fan of JFC since it was a column, and although I was a little skeptical of the podcast format, I can't imagine it any other way now. It brightens up a dull working day to stick a JFC podcast on whilst I'm working, and it's refreshing to listen to a pair of knowledgable and passionate film fans talk about what they love. Keep it up!
