I did a bit of thinking.

I am a person who needs to work on one big project at a time. So I decided to finish zum Damenhaus before continuing Potion Shop Schwesterherz. I just got really annoyed that I keep forgeting the basics of Unity and relearning them costs me time and patience. And those weekly Unity updates, that breaks the stuff I already made drive me mad as well.

I thought the "one month this, and one month that" schedule was a big enough time window to work consistantly on one project; but it wasn't. At least not for me personally.

Another of my concern was, if people would still support me if they don't get a playable update every couple of months when I am busy with my new game. But I am less afraid of that now, cause of a few reasons:

  • most people stayed, even though they already need to wait 2-3 months for a zDh update (cause I am busy with other stuff in-between)
  • I can put together a playable alpha for the new game probably quicker than expected if i can focus on it
  • I can publish smaller steps of the new game to let people play around with the concept and show that I am alive and continue working

(There also will be a lot of Devblog updates, on a side note.)

There isn't much stuff anymore I want to have for zDh. The biggest things will actually be the cleanliness update and a gallery. Still, there will be more updates than just those two, with animations, CG's, fixes and quality of life changes. I just want to soften the edges of the game to make it feel like a finished game. For example: What to do with the flasks if you have upgraded everything?

I still do some random animations here and there. This helps me to improve and give people something else every now an then.

I continue working on zDh right now.

I wish you a fine day.

I think it's a great idea for you and us. Hope you the best on this game ^^

Great idea, indeed it is much preferable to finish one project. As a creator however, you may feel the need to switch projects every now and then in order not to lose inspiration. I know that working on a single line may get tedious and dulling after awhile so don't try to stress yourself so much. As far as I am concerned, you have delivered well and the hiccups so far have been minor. Personally, one fully cooked game is better than two bugged flawed ones with underdeveloped ideas. Go for it man and keep up the good work.

I agree with this. When you're feeling a bit burnt out with a project it really helps to switch your focus to a new one for a while, especially if you feel passionate about working on it. Your heart will eventually go back to the other project, and you'll be able to approach it with a fresh mind. The only issue, as Crow mentioned, is forgetting any of the basics that you were working with before.

You're the coolest random crow I've ever met!)

I'll stay for as long as my financial situation allows it! But it's good to fogure out what works best for oneself, and I'm always looking forward for more zDh, so I really won't complain.

This game is cool, but when playing in browser it become very lag after a few minutes. Is there a offline version? (I know it's a flash, but if you just download the .swf it won't work. Must need some other data)

I'm happy to stay for a while despite slowed-down updates. Personally not a huge fan of the planned cleanliness feature personally, I'd much rather have a threesome feature (FFM), but that would of course mean a much larger number of animations you'd have to do.

oh thanks, but why when I open with adobe flash player it pops a window says property error? but swf opener is all right. Compatible problem?
