1. You did say some really interesting things at the beginning... especially on Osiris and Set. Also Tawaret is a mix between a crocodile and a hippo. 2. Also your words about Hume and Locke being about observation and words was interesting. So for example, do you believe what Jacob says is true about the island, corks and hell? As you say you would have to see something to believe it right? 3. You may have not noticed that Pierre Chang looked exactly the same as he did in 1977 which was almost 27 years previous to oceanic 815 taking off. 4. The Whispers - Its interesting to go back to season 1 episode 16, where the whispers clearly say the last words of Frank Duckett "It will come back around", which is the man who Sawyer shot before he got on the plane. Clearly a man who could not move on after he died and haunting Sawyer. 5. I get a kick with MiB talking about compass needles spinning when above the well. When if you go back to season 1 episode 13, Locke and Sayid discuss Lockes compass pointing in a strange direction. In the words of Frank Duckett, it will come back around.

2. Id say im working on the theory that Jacobs talk with Richard was true. while also aware that it might not be. 3. didnt notice that....may mention this in next ep. 4. yes. id forgotten about that, the only time we hear the whispers clearly....to my ears anyway. 5. lol

4. I remember when people used to decode the whispers, there's the moment where Shannon is shot and just before, she is surrounded by whispers. Someone realised that one of them says "Dying sucks" and its relatively clear. In the flashback of the same episode when Boone visits Shannon he says "Dying sucks". Boone may have not been able to move on yet. The question is: why are the whispers even a thing that exists on this island?

Enjoyed the pre-episode ramble; the myth of Set and Osiris was particularly interesting. I'm familiar with the portion that follows the fratricide, but the details prior to that, concerning their origins and their tussling on an island, are new to me! Very intriguing.

To address a question you posed before the episode, you asked why Jacob interacting with our main cast members during their pasts off-island shouldn't be considered an "interference" that contradicts his stated intentions not to get involved with those he brings to the island. Yet as you observed, Jacob's intentions of non-intervention, as originally stated, pertained specifically to not providing moral guidance or directive to people on the island, since their intended purpose is to serve as proof to the Man in Black that people aren't innately predisposed toward corruption. "...I wanted them to help themselves; to know the difference between right and wrong without me having to tell them. It's all meaningless if I have to force them to do anything." So Jacob's motivation in not interfering appears to center around not wanting to fix or otherwise contaminate the natural outcome of this "moral experiment" he describes, since doing so would invalidate the results he intends to offer as proof to the Man in Black. From what we've seen, Jacob's past involvement in the main cast members' lives off-island has appeared to me to be fairly hands-off. His in-person encounters with them have seemed incidental and not particularly influential. I am, at least, not left with the impression that Jacob has aggressively shaped the content of these people's character. So his actions appear to remain consistent with his desire not to step in as a moral authority to others. This, of course, still leaves unanswered the question of what Jacob's purpose actually was in making contact with these characters.

What an ending on this episode lol

Hugo's leadership abilities really comes out here. His talk with Locke showed true unhostile negotiation between 2 groups which otherwise could've potentially gone worse with someone with a hotter head in charge of speaking for them (Jack). (They come, fight, they destroy, they corrupt) Re: ramble - I find that the eastereggs with names which have nothing to do with the plot just lead people off endless theory cliffs where they land no where near what's happening more plainly in front of their eyes.

Was it Jacob that allows people to die? Or is it the Island itself? 🤔😉
