I'm putting an UNHEALTHY amount of hours into Game Dev each day... The cool thing is, everyone was like, "That's all that's in this game on the first release?" And I was like, "You're not seeing the 10,000 lines of code behind it that aren't running any systems yet but are there behind the scenes."... And now that I'm getting to day 2 and day 3 content, those systems are starting to show their power. This game is going to be so packed with systems and content I am just so proud of it. I wish my images looked more photorealistic but I think they're good enough... Otherwise, the rest of it I'm REALLY happy with. I remember my first ever release. My UI design was SO BAD... But now, my UI is looking pretty awesome. And it'll only get better as time goes on... I'm glad you guys are here in the beginning to watch the transformation!

Hey there, I really appreciate all the enthusiasm you're pouring into your project, which is obviously a great thing that I'm sure will pay off in the long run. I initially thought all this might be too ambitious, but if you keep this pacing I think you will actually manage to pull it off. So keep doing the great work, but try to not overextend yourself too much! With that being said, and if you're open to suggestions, I would advise you to put up a system to individually enable or disable all those activities, in other words, make them optional where possible (if you haven't already). This is because not everyone could be interested in playing the barmaid minigame, or the cleaning one, for example. If a player is forced to do unwanted, repetitive activities, they may lose interest in the game. Giving players choices is always a good thing so that they can experience the game however they want to, imho.

You already have that choice. Tied into the story. If you don't want to go to work. You don't go. There is another option to gain access to the town later. But you will miss out on points, and money. And the points, skill points especially, unlock stuff you will want to see. So you can play the game like a visual novel if you want. But it's not meant to be played like that and you will miss out on stuff. I mean, it's like any game. If you played Skyrim, and didn't want to do any quests, just fight stuff, you'd miss out on most of the game. Same with mine. And Bethesda wouldn't change their whole game so people can just fight. They'd make it so you could if you wanted, but it's not how the game was meant to be played so you'll be fucking yourself over really. That being said, I try to give you as many options to avoid anything you want, as possible. Within code limits. If you don't work the bar, there will be other ways to make money, but I haven't implemented those other ways yet and probably won't for a while because it's a whole other system. Last thing I'll say... Games that are just stories you follow along and make simple choices, last exactly one play through. And most people skip through it. Games that require you to work, you spend a lot more time playing, and find more memorable in the end. The grind, is important. It builds a gameplay loop.
