I have Sickle Cell but I’m American living in the US and here we still have a hard time just going to the hospital to get treatment because we’re automatically “drug seekers” in their minds because we’re Black-#1 and because the physicians and hospitals are SO ignorant to the disease! I'm not clapping when the plane lands. That's dumb TO ME. But I every single time tell the crew 'thank you'. If it's a troubling flight with lots of turbulence I especially tell the pilots, 'thank you for getting us here safely' I don't take that shit for granted at all. I fly too much

I’m American and I’ve never clapped when the plane landed. I’ve never been on a plane where people clapped when it landed. Most people are trying to jump up and get their stuff.

I’m American and while I don’t clap when the plane lands I get why. Ellis is young and I believe he wasn’t born when 9/11. The clapping started after 9/11 because people were thankful that they landed (we took that for granted before then). Then I think it just stuck as something people do now when the plane lands

The ONLY time I've clapped along with others after the plane landing is when we stopped after having the worst turbulence. The pilot and the crew were amazing and calming. I'm not the biggest fan of flying so I was stressed the whole time. So, I was thanking God and clapping along with everyone else
