How do you guys feel about us recording an episode live that you can join? Some of you have suggested this idea before but we’ll pretend it was ours.

Some things to consider:

What book to do?

When would we record it? We typically record Tuesday or Wednesday nights around 9 eastern time. But we could try something different to accommodate other schedules possibly. Everyone has work and families and such so might be tough to find the prefect time for everyone but we’d try our best.

Should this be an episode just for patrons or available for non patron listeners to feel mad jelly about?

We’re very protective of our identities so we would use zoom but not probably show our faces and would definitely understand if you did the same. We would not record or share the video but would want to keep the audio.

If this works out well and folks like it we can try to make it a regular thing.

Leave your thoughts here or send us a message so we can try to work this out.

Also, I forgot to post the poll for April but will ASAP. I was drinking a lot. Still might be. 🍻

The Drunk Guys Book Club

We’d definitely schedule out so there’s enough time for all to read. I’ve never read Jude, but I had a lot of Thomas Hardy ale back in the day. Do you think that would be a good book for any episode or specifically for the live one?

Night shift lifestyle

I have no idea. But there is a scene where his country wife cucks him for letting a pig get away while he is trying to slaughter it.

Zaphod Beeblebrox

I’d be down for live episodes. Probably be good as a patron only episode. Another book idea would be Imaginary Friend by Stephen Chbosky. Could do well as a live.

Zaphod Beeblebrox

I’ve listened to the audiobook. I really enjoyed it.

The Drunk Guys Book Club

I’d like to point out that Dustin specifically said he “listened” to it and not “read”. Looks like someone agrees with me on audiobooks. Sorry Nate.

Emotional Support Burrito

Great idea! I'm don't care so much about patreon only or not, but maybe as a test run make it an exclusive thing. As far as books go, did you already read 100 years of solitude? Found that to be one of the few 'always recommended' books that I actually liked.

The Drunk Guys Book Club

We have not! But we all really enjoyed Love in the Time it Cholera so we want to read 100 years at some point.

Don't Be Such A Baby Cry

I just ordered a fairly new book called Greatest Beer Run Ever. It’s about this dude who went to Vietnam as a civilian to bring beer to his buddies who were stationed there during the Vietnam War. Sounds pretty rad.

The Drunk Guys Book Club

That is definitely more epic than my beer runs have been. Though I have stood in line for embarrassingly long times to try and buy stouts on more than one occasion. Maybe those weren't epic. Well, no. They weren't. Checking out the book - sounds really interesting, I'll see what the other guys think!
