Okay, after watching this episode a thousand times, it just occurred to me that maybe they couldn't drive away at the beginning because Hop's cabin is super remote and the only road led directly to the Mind Flayer? Maybe? Idk though

Yeah, I think the monster was lowkey blocking their only way out so maybe they thought to let it come, have El weaken it or destroy it, then they make their escape.

yeah, they were doing a "show don't tell" kind of shot by showing the only road surrounded by trees and the monster at the end of it running towards the camera but i guess sometimes you gotta have one character state the obvious for the audience to be like "oh yeah that makes sense"

You can kinda tell when they are not enjoying a show lol For Peaky Blinders there are inconsistencies but they tend to let them go because they actually like the shows premise

I hope they like it. I actually liked season 3. It feels like the summer blockbuster installment so I forgive some of the sillier things. It's also the calm before the storm. Plus they have to get to season 4, which is the best since the first season.

Yeah. I kinda felt that they wouldn't necessarily be overjoyed about this season. It's the weakest of the 4 seasons. But........they got 1 more episode before they experience season 4.
