Is it just me or is this reaction muted after the intro? and I'm not talking about the episode footage.

Now it's working. it wasn't earlier tho! Must've been on my end

This dream in 33:00 is something interesting you notice on a rewatch, you should circle back to it when you finish the show.

They did a good job of making us feel like we're tripping right along with Elliot.

Fear not, I definitely was watching this as it aired weekly and when friends and coworkers who would watch vods the day after ask me "how was last night's episode?" I'd almost ALWAYS respond with, "it was pretty amazing!!...I also have NO idea what's REALLY happening so don't ask for something specific" 😂 Things will clear up I promise! Not all at once of course but it's very satisfying when things start to unravel. 😄

I freaking love the cinematography of this show

Looking back at it now with the hindsight of knowing what's gonna happen later in the show, this might be the most important episode of the whole show, or at least of Season 1 for sure. The entire dream sequence is one insanely huge spoiler. I strongly implore you to re-watch it once you have finished the show.

Good ep! I always forget they drop this trippy dream sequence so early. A less brave show would have saved it but nah, episode 4 we're gonna have half the ep dedicated to the wildest stuff ever lol. Always loved the Angela / Shayla scene. After being with the world's shittiest boyfriend for so long she really needed a pick me up - to feel attractive, powerful, in control. FYI ecstacy (MDMA) can give feelings of euphoria, brighter lights, increased sensations, a desire to touch / hug / dance / be close to people, and a general feeling of togetherness and elation. It's definitely been used in therapeutic settings, but usually in small doses that don't give the big club effects.

Fun fact, Steel Mountain is in reference to a real data storage company called Iron Mountain. They actually do have data storage facilities in a mountain.
