Chad Here, and I wanna say wow, this episode gave me some new perspectives. Did i read this right? When we saw Saul back in Breaking Bad, he tries to put the blame on an Ignacio. Am I to believe that Nacho is essentially that character fleshed out over the course of BCS? If so, that's awesome. Second, we now have context that no one was going to give walt a leg up and that he was kinda stalled out until Saul hand picked Walt? Totally flips the power dynamics between the two. Also master a stroke.

any chance of chad joining the girls for the end of show discussion?

Justin Calhoun

Yup! That’s the same Nacho. Throw away line but they took it and made it super meaningful and fleshed out. They truly nailed it.

Chris Bruneau

Chad, you are totally correct. I own the blue ray special edition-- on the commentary, Gilligan talks about the fact the entire plot was originally based on a few throwaway lines of dialogue from episode 2/8 of BB with Saul in the desert. (brilliant writing) and yes, this show is a masterpiece, in my opinion, its actually better than BB! its a DAMN shame it never won a single Emmy!!

Chris Bruneau

Also, its time for some cosplay coming up.........just sayin'

Alex V

Yeah as another comment spelled out, that's the same Ignacio. I also concur that while I will always appreciate Breaking Bad for the great show that it is, BCS is probably my favorite from this universe.

Adam Vialpando

This really changes how I view the original scene. Originally because we know Walt & Jesse we think 'Oh haha, this guy is overreacting for this dumb thing'. Now we know he was truly fearing for his life, and for good reason.

Chris Thompson

Forget Walt and Jessie - the only guest star that matters in 6x11 is Saul’s Bar Buddy, none other than Devin Ratray, aka Buzz McCallister, Kevin’s douchebag big bro from Home Alone, all growed up, and still as obnoxious as ever.

Tim Martin

…and the “Lalo didn’t send you? No Lalo?” dialog from the same.

Vasili Brasinikas

It's been so long but in Breaking Bad, Saul first shows up in a season 2 episode titled "Better Call Saul." In that episode, Badger has been arrested and Walt/Jesse try to get Saul to get him out of jail. When he initially refuses, Walt and Jesse abduct Saul and drive him out to the desert, where he makes the comments about Ignacio and Lalo. At the end of the episode, Saul visits Walt at his high school and convinces him to work with him full time. Now in Better Call Saul, this episode is titled "Breaking Bad" and shows all those scenes but from Saul's point of view!

Oscar H

so will there be a Kim/Saul cosplay or something for the finale ? lol

Ray H

In episode 11, All the flashbacks take place during Breaking Bad Season 2 Episode 8: Better Call Saul.

Sam Rogers

needs to be mike/saul!

Oscar H

It has to be a character exclusive to BCS either Kim, Howard, Chuck or Lalo. I think any of those with Saul is a good choice

Joel Davis

"What game do you show them in Nebraska" makes me think they haven't seen the Fargo TV show yet

Joel Davis

My vote is for Lyle. Lyle is the unsung hero of BCS

Joe Blankenship

Just need a space blanket, or big piece of aluminum foil to do Chuck.

Joshua Luzania

It was good to see Walt and Jesse back to have fun doing a scene together, even though they are much older and they didn't do any weird deaging stuff. I'm glad yall werent too distracted by it. The scene they added to was from S2 called Better Call Saul, and this episode is called Breaking Bad. They love their play with the titles. And just be sure to bring tissues for the finale! can't wait!

Pyt

You better put some respect on the Pontiac Aztec.

Kliphord

Next week guess be the last two episodes cant wait great reactions again.

Jaylennn

pls watch the pitt, yall would love

Grayson

What’s funny is Saul kind of had his Lalo moment for the cab driver at the start of 6x10. Dude was shitting himself

Christophe

I think the only issue for me regarding the actors' ages was Aaron's voice. He can wear a beanie and play a goofball and it's mostly fine, but he just sounds so different, so much hoarser and rougher somehow. It was already noticeable in El Camino but even more so here. Which is also why I think the girls had trouble recognizing his voice in Invincible.

Christophe

They haven't but they definitely should. At least the first couple seasons.

Joe Blankenship

I thought that was him. Good catch, ya little troutsniffer.

Joe Blankenship

Yeah, at first it was just a line to let us know "oh, sounds like Saul's had dealings with the Mexican cartels before," but then we got to see all the dealings!

Adam Vialpando

The Emmys are a joke anyway. They nominated GoT S8 for best writing. And Bojack Horseman never won an Emmy either, so there are more than a few snubs of quality shows.

Hank Scorpio

Fargo doesn't take place in Nebraska. It takes place in Minnesota/North Dakota..

This second episode of 'Better Call Saul' (S6 E11), which is called 'Breaking Bad', includes flashbacks to an episode of 'Breaking Bad' called 'Better Call Saul' (S2 E8).

M4RRS

Personally, I, for one, found it intriguing to observantly notice one thing in particular. That is, a certain phone call to Kim from Jimmy/Saul/Viktor/Gene — which he urgently felt compelled to make only after Francesca first told him that Kim had recently asked about him — upset him basically beyond repair. In fact, he became irate enough — obviously due to whatever Kim had said to him during their brief conversation — to then subsequently revert right back to those inner ways within his core self. Thus, in merely an instant, he immediately turned into the old, strategizin', schemin', scammin', "Slippin' Jimmy".

M4RRS

Somehow, you both seemed to have missed the planned scam-slash-scheme by "Gene" when he was shown giving the wire a snipping (right after his story about "Nippy").

M4RRS

"Frank" was portrayed by Jim O'Heir, who also played Garry (aka "Jerry" / "Barry" / "Larry" / "Terry") Gergich in 'Parks and Recreation'. Thus, perhaps that show is where you have seen him before.

M4RRS

For those who may have been previously unaware and/or confused: There was an original actor who portrayed Jeff. His name is Don Harvey, who personally speaking, I immediately recognized from his on-screen involvement in 'TAK3N' aka 'Taken 3'. He made a couple of appearances as Jeff in two prior black-and-white timeline scenes. However, that was before some worldwide interference from this whole global pandemic thing called COVID hit, which obviously messed up all kinds of schedules. So, by the time when he would be needed for the role of Jeff to become a more prominently featured one during the second half of the sixth season, Don Harvey was no longer available, due to another acting commitment. Thus, an actor by the name of Pat Healy was recast as Jeff.
