The Hunger Games (2012) | Watch Along

I honestly think this movie gets a bad rap, people try to dismiss it as a Battle Royale knock-off, but I think it approaches the premise from interesting angles and frankly, not even Battle Royale was the first to do a Battle Royale, it just popularized because it's a damn good movie. Besides, the battle royale premise is it's own subgenre, it's fine as long as the film-makers do it well and they do it well here. Except for the face painting part.

LET'S FREAKING GO!!!!

Alexander Ocean

Arianna have you read the new book Sunrise on the Reaping yet??

Eddie

The shaky camera calms down for the later movies. Since there are many kids being killed in this movie, they used the shakiness and close-ups during those scenes because you can't technically show it on camera. I enjoyed your reaction to Romeo & Juliet.... and to The Hunger Games :D

Owen

Maybe my favorite joke from the Rifftrax for this movie was "You can drop the shaky cam, nobody believes this is a documentary!"

Pyt

Hopefully they check out Battle Royale (2001) at some point.

Joe Blankenship

Called "Battle Quarter Pounder" in France.

One of my favorite series. I actually watched the first two movies before I ever read the books so I'm partial for it.

Liam Hemsworth is Miley Cyrus' cheating ex-husband... and Thor's brother.

I need Maple to watch the 1996 Romeo & Juliet after this.

Walid

In one week, we found out that Maple doesn't know the story of Romeo and Juliet and what Tom Cruise looks like.

If I remember correctly: 1 is jewels 2 is military (it's where peacekeepers are from) 3 is tech 4 is fishing 5 is the dam 7 is lumber 11 is agriculture 12 is coal And the Capitol is not a district (like how D.C. is not a state.

Jacob Livingston

Kevin Landon

I liked the prequel. And the casting for sunrise on the reaping has been phenomenal. It should be awesome. At least has a lot of potential.

Elesh

Loved this movie when it first came out, personally not a single sequel envoked the feelings I had for this one

Trevor Go

Oh no, they selected Denny!

Aaron Graham

Ooooo are we gonna get these weekly ?

Kayce Stubblefield

Que lo nos dos? I'd love the classic Zefirelli version, then the 1996. Both are good!
