House of the Dragon 1x3 | Watch Along

This episode basically confirmed the long-running fan theory that Hugh of the Vale from Game of Thrones was a secret Lannister.😂 Jokes aside, I find it genuinely funny—and kind of impressive—how Jefferson Hall went from a random season 1 appearance as Hugh of the Vale in S1 of GOT and since then has become a fantastic character actor, and now they’ve brought him back to play another pair of Lannister twins in HotD.

Real question is are ppl really out here raw dogging the vids like that? 🙅🏾

Daemon's dragon is notoriously mutated (birth defect if I remember correctly) and that's why his body is so elongated.

I guess you missed it, a lot of people do on their first watch, but Viserys has lost two fingers on his left hand. We could see it in a couple of scenes. So there was a bit of an update on the health situation, apparently the maggot thing didn't work.

Joshua Luzania

It is the most apparent while he talks to Alicent by the fireplace. He holds his hand up for a couple seconds.

I think the intro is too iconic to change. A lot of the fans would have been upset bc most likely a new intro song wouldn’t have been as good lol.

Prince Daemon's sword is Valerian Steel called Dark Sister it first belonged to Queen Visenya Targaryen who was married to her King/Brother Aegon the Conqueror

Small correction: Daemon and Corlys aren't fighting "the seasnakes". The Seasnake is a nickname/moniker that Corlys has earned for himself by building up his house's status and power through trade and control of the narrow sea. Which is also why he was especially upset that the Crabfeeder was disrupting that trade.

His hands were just a little cold is all.

Ramin Djawadi is still the composer, and he’s created at least three other pieces for Game of Thrones that are just as iconic (Winds of Winter is the best piece he's ever made) — not to mention his work this season with the new character themes and credits theme, plus his incredible scores for Westworld and various other films and shows. They easily could have come up with a fresh, outstanding intro instead of leaning so heavily on nostalgia.

See, that’s one of my problems with that bit of lore they drop later in the season. I can understand if she named it Dark Sister herself — maybe because she was basically sword wielding grimdark fantasy edgelord — but the show acts like she was the first person to wield it at all. That doesn’t really add up. (or it could have been named Dark Sister back in the day and originally wielded by Gaemon the Glorious' sister/wife Daenys the Dreamer who had dark premonitions of the future Doom of Valyria and her the dark path of decedents.) Valyrian steel swords — aside from their White Walker-killing properties — are incredibly practical weapons: they’re lighter than regular steel and can cut through other swords depending on the wielder’s strength. Ice might be massive, but it’s supposed to be so light that Ned can swing it easily, and that’s why Old Man Cregan Stark could hold his own against a certain Dragonknight who wielded Dark Sister a generation or so down the line. The Targaryens may have kept to themselves during much of the Bleeding Years, but it makes no sense that such valuable and powerful swords would just sit around collecting dust instead of being used by other family members — as we see all throughout Targaryen history. So the idea that the 10th Lord of Dragonstone’s eldest daughter just picked it up off the mantel and declared, “This is mine now,” is pretty silly when you think about it. lol

I hope if the Nymeria animated show is actually being made and is successful, then we can get a Nine Voyages animated series with Steve Toussaint being brought back to voice him!

It’s definitely possible they could have. The intro is still iconic have zero problem with it.

Lady Wife is actually sort of progressive because it takes to account the Nobility status of the woman aside from just being the Wife of a lord...For instance Rhaenys married the Seasnake but is still a Targaryen Princess with potential claim to the throne separate from her husband. So just refers to the nobility status of the wife aside from that of her husband.

Lucas

Daemon's sword is Dark Sister which is Valyrian steel and extremely valuable (and very deadly) Targaryen artifact as the blade of one of Aegon the Conqueror's sister...Aegon the Conqueror's(original Aegon's) blade also is called DarkFyre and Viserys the King has it, was shown in Ep 1 when he was sitting the throne.

I do love our danger noodle

Just wanted to say I got out of sync with the video by accident and you singing the intro music helped me get back on track :D

This season of television has to be one of the most frustrating to ever be written. The answers are soo obvious in the show, and yet...nope. Its even more painful after reading the book. I love it though. Arrgh...it bugs me that they keep calling Aegon 1st born son as a way to reinforce his claim...but Baelon live for a day. Blarg....all the fire.
