Squid Game 3x1 | Watch Along

I guess I've decided I'm done with this show. Maybe I'll change my mind at some point. But I found the second season already very tedious when I watched it by myself and then couldn't even get all the way through it on my planned rewatch with you guys. It just feels like the kind of series that should have been a one-season mini-series and was probably planned that way. It had a perfectly tight story and ending and just dragging it on now seems like it's just milking the fan base.

I think that the game sequences are well done, but the whole b-story with detective Hwang on the boat feels pointless. If the mystery had expanded on the scope of corruption outside of the game, the writers could have built up the world and introduced more characters and sequences like with the recruiter in 2x1. The Wind Waker side quest just wasn't hitting.

I can't wait to see your guy's reaction to this season!

The quote Maple was thinking of is from the Bible "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

I've been dragging my feet on season 2. Didn't think it really needed a 2nd season. Can't believe season 3 is already out. Must've filmed them back to back.

Why do u have copyright on Patreon dho..???

Chris Thompson

I mean I get it, they do it to cover their asses, but other reactors I’ve backed show entire movies and shows clean and uncovered so I don’t know. One gripe I have is why go to the point of having subs if they’re going to cover half of them with the Copyright blurb. Sometimes makes syncing up tricky.

Diegesis

People who don't have to worry about it, understandably think that because Patreon doesn't have a content ID system that it means it's okay to just show the whole episode, but content ID systems exist to protect the law of copyright infringement protection. So even without the content ID system, the law against uploading someone elses work for the price of 5 dollars a month still exists. And you wouldn't steal a car.

Diegesis

The point of the subs is for the reactors comprehension. Don't have to wonder if an actor said "bull" or "bowl". I personally sync using shot transitions rather than subs.

Chris Thompson

I do both, but dialogue is just easier.

Joe Blankenship

Yeah, I watched a Cinebinge video the other day, and they said you don't need your own copy. I was kinda surprised that they were advertising it. Sure seems like unlicensed distribution of copywritten material to me.

Gino

Do they ever find out the characters in the show do not watch the show like they do? I keep getting confused by their confusion of characters not knowing certain things.

Zynthio

I think you're just being confused or overly-dramatic yourself. I don't think they are confused about characters not knowing things at all. They are just pointing out characters not having common sense, or ignoring gut instincts, etc—which they do frequently in this show
