Alicent was essentially told to marry an old man, which made her lose her best friend, then her dad is expelled because of rhaenyra conversation with the king, rhaenyra straight up lied to her. I also think we always overlook rhaenyras grave mistakes, she has put her family at risk by having bastards, the whole show at least the 1st season is about bloodlines. She made an enemy out of criston cole, yeah he a bitch but rhaenyra could handled that situation a bit better imo. Not tryna to play favorites here but try to undersatnd alicent, she has been used up by men her entire life. I think being understanding of both sides will make the viewing experience much better imo, at least it did for me, I still hated alicent for not getting her own goddam autonomy but it helped understanding where she's coming from 😁😁

Also, I personally think "bastards" should only apply to Kings not Queens. So what if Rhaenyra's sons are bastards, we know for a fact that they're HER heirs, because they came from HER. Regardless of who their father is, there is no question that they're Targaryens. King's bastards on the other hand... without DNA testing there is always doubt.

I think Rhaenyra lying to her, on her mother's grave, made Alicient realize that she doesn't really know Rhaenyra the way she thought, which means her father could be right about Rhaenyra killing her kids to secure her throne. But over the years, watching Rhaenyra be able to have her cake and eat it to, to see her NOT become some man's broodmare to secure his line and instead having kids with someone she actually wants to secure HER line, watching all that has made Alicient bitter AF. So, she's exerting whatever power she has on someone she believes, gets to do whatever she wants. It's pure jealousy, that Rhaenyra is not as miserable in her marriage as Alicient is in hers.

No matter how you feel about the time jump they absolutely nailed the recasting for rhaenyra and allicent. Just an incredible job. I did love milly Alcock (younger rhaenyra) performance. But Olivia Cooke and Emma d’arcy are both spectacular as well.

I'm not sure Alicent had any real choice in whether to marry Viserys. The two most powerful men in the country made that decision when she was a young teenager. Also - the show had to age-up Rhaenyra, Alicent, Laena, and Laenor because they have to look significantly older than their children. It was probably lazy to ignore the aging of the other characters, but it is just not integral to the story.

As crazy it may appear the aging actually make sense Rhaenyra, Laenor, and Alicent were 17 at the wedding now they'er 27. Younger you are the faster you age, the older you are the slower you age. Exhibit A : Robert Downy Jr (Ironman), Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, hell even Wesley Snipes look like men that are in their late 40s or early 50s...... Dude they're all in their 60's they are all almost considered senior citizens think on that.

Its not that big a deal I guess. Harwin looks the same too. Going from like 24 to 34, being a body guard in a castle at peace time, probably won't age much tbh.

Fair enough. I think it doesn't register as much with Harwin because we barely saw him previously. Most people that watch this show for the first time think that this Harwin character was introduced in this episode.

It's not just the hair guys. The only mistake Rhaenyra made was not finding a lover who was black. You have to sell the lie, which means those babies should be mixed. And it doesn't help that Daemon children are mixed with the twin of her husband. As much as I can't stand Alison, I would be pissed to. It's the whole now you think we are all stupid and what we seeing is not the truth with our own eyes.

Like for real. Lenor is Black just like his sister. So those babies should be mixed. Daemons' children who are clearly mixed also doesn't help Rhaenera's case. This is why, if you are going to have an open relationship during this time, at least do it with someone who looks like your husband in case you get pregnant. I'm not on Alicent's side, but I feel her on, yo we see it with our eyes. Stop trying to gaslight us and play us for a fool.

I think they generally didn't age most of the actors that stay consistent, (its not just a male thing). They change the actors of the teens and children, and age up Visarys (who is sick), and maybe Lyonel looks older and maybe Otto. But Rhaenys and Corlys look the same (next episode), and Larys and Harwin look the same (along with Criston and Daemon). And also lady Mysaria looks exactly the same when we see her.

Yeah, Daemon definitely helped push the horse over. If you watch it again you can see the horse rear up and Daemon makes sure that the horse falls back.
