I think this is the only episode of The Sopranos that I don't particularly care for, which is pretty good going, considering there are nearly 90 of them in total. It just feels like a lot of wheel-spinning without much going on. The Chris subplot is completely uninteresting. Edit: Actually, now that I've watched it again, even though the Chris subplot is still kinda lame, I love the Cusamano stuff.

I agree, he's certainly one of the best characters, I just think his best stuff doesn't necessarily come from the episodes where he goes off on his extra-curricular endeavours; music, Hollywood, etc..

Since Arianna mentioned it, they actually did give more context about what was wrong during the studio session, it was just at the end of the conversation. It was when they were arguing with the engineer, he was criticizing the song because it had no chorus or structure. It was just verse after verse so nothing to hook people with.

Oh that might be too on the nose for the show and he was born in Brooklyn Ok what about New Jersey legend Bruce Springsteen's song Thunder Road, is this a bad song? Anyways, Tangled up in the Blue, Positively 4th Street, Ill stop listing Bob Dylan songs because that cheating. Seven Nation Army, Money, Baba O’Riley, Pinball Wizard, Sound of Silence, Isn't She Lovely?, Every Picture Tells a Story. Paranoid, My Way, Stairway to Heaven, Bittersweet Symphony, Elephant. Also countless other songs that are great that don't have a chorus. Anyways the point is that from what was shown on the show itself during the recording session, it sounded good. It wasn't until we all got to hear the meow song that we realized how bad it actually was.

I’m sorry you felt the need to write your snarky thesis in response to this, but please point to me where I said “this is my opinion of song structure”. You are arguing with a not real character in a show through my clarification of why they said they had problems with it lol. I do not hold the opinion of this fictional character. However, in the show we see the engineer not liking what he was hearing of the recording and then him explicitly stating “it has no chorus” in a frustrated way and arguing over that fact. Of course, there are other reasons too (meow), but the chorus part is literally in the script. I can go back and get the timestamps for you later if that’s too difficult. Again, because interpretation and inference is hard, THIS IS NOT MY OPINION lol.
