hiii, just curious if you'll be watching the last three episodes together in one video? or will those be split into 2 and 1?

Diegesis

it'll probably just be the next two and then the two after that will be the finale + the premiere of season 2

blue

okay :) thanks for letting us know!

Harry Clabon

dunno if this is a detail you caught but Levi cuts Petras patch off her uniform before the guys go to get the body, thats the one he gives to the dude and says its the patch from the guy he tried to retrieve.

The music when eren transforms is called vogel im Kafig and it always gives me goosebumps. Overall AOT's music is fucking phenomenal especially later opening's of the seasons

Saw your reply saying the plan is to jump immediately into season 2, so I just wanted to ask about the OADs and if you guys were aware of them? Crunchyroll posted them all together under a separate season, but they are meant to be watched between various seasons. Ilse's Notebook, The Sudden Visitor, Distress, and No Regrets Part 1-2 all originally aired between the first and second season. Just wanted to ask because they are easy to miss, but some of them are really important! No Regrets is especially one that's most impactful watching before season 2, but the others make most sense to watch before the next season as well.

i will just say i think “ilse’s notebook” is better if watched after the first episode of season 2, not before. that’s all lol. i somehow haven’t seen “no regrets” yet, but im sure those are great after season 1

Camden Marr

aot has by far my favorite OST i’ve ever heard. so many incredible songs

Tanner Hatch

"Really important" overstates them a bit; you can watch only the broadcasted seasons just fine. None of the OVAs are canon except two, and of those, only "Ilse's Notebook" was actually part the manga. "A Choice with No Regrets" (1 & 2) on the other hand was written by a different author and then made canon retroactively. Not to say they aren't worth watching! I do enjoy them and would also bring up those two I mentioned if a friend was watching, but I imagine it's much easier to sneak them in when you don't have a schedule of shows to get through. On the other hand, recording them will also probably save the comment section for every forthcoming episode. 🥲

Anghel

That’s why I said “some of them” as I don’t remember them all. But the two you mentioned at least would be the ones I’m sure people would be hoping for over on YouTube, hence why I thought I’d at least mention it in case they were interested. If they were going to watch them when they appear on Crunchyroll anyway, I thought they might as well get the heads up for when they were intended to be viewed.

Tanner Hatch

For sure! Things would be much easier if Crunchyroll had like a viewing guide feature or something. That way people wouldn't fall into the episode 13.5 trap either.

CK12341

maybe an unpopular opinion, but I would SO MUCH rather them just jump into season 2 if watching the OVAs means it will take the place of that weeks episodes.

2026-09-05 05:00 NOW you two are finally in the rhythm of the series. You can expect emotional crush-age every episode for the next 4 seasons. Y'all are going to be devastated and intrigued the entire time. This is one of those shows that matter way more than the rest... truly.

Yeah, I totally understand that. Especially the ones that feel like filler could wait. Ilse's Notebook and No Regrets would be the main ones I'd consider doing after season 1 since they tie in more directly to the actual plot. Either way is fine by me though! I just know they'll likely get a lot of YouTube comments asking for those two at least, so I thought I'd mention it just for consideration.

I know it's been said but everything in this series means something and will be brought up again later in some way. Every time i rewatch I still manage to find something that implies where the series ends up. its fun to rewatch with newcomers.

The recaps this season are pretty bad but I think it's supposed to get shorter after this season. These two episodes combined had some of my favorite moments from the entire show.

I really hope that they at least watch the No Regrets OVAs. I can take or leave the others, but that one gives so much more depth to certain characters and makes season 3 that much more meaningful.

Lemon

Yeah from here on out it’s straight violence and heartbreak

Finally you guys can see a glimpse into the grand majesty of our glorious (short) king Levi and you also got your first look at his ultimate move human beyblade

To be honest I think all the OVAs are important to rounding off the characters. Ilse's Notebook is especially important in terms of early world building, I don't even know why it's an OVA. It contains the first mention of the very important person that I can't even think of a hint for without dropping a spoiler, gives us lots of backstory regarding Hange and her motivations, and shows us Levi, Erwin and Hange in the early days. It's also just a really well done episode. The Lost Girls OVAs are also worth watcing. None of them are really essential, but certain things hit a lot harder if you've seen them.

K

All of this is very true. Where would we be without the Jean OVA? I loved him so much more after that one. And I also did really enjoy getting to see more of the Survey Corps prior to our cadets joining.
