Friends forever we'll be together!

This is one of the trifecta of less known bad movies. The other two being Deadly Prey and Action USA. Hopefully they'll eventually make an appearance! Also if I remember that when it was shown to distributors, they universally told him that Jim shouldn't die and so they hastily shot a new ending.

any chance of another show instead of bad mvie night?

chris watt

FRIENDS FOR ETERNITY! LOYALTY! HONESTY! So glad y'all are reacting to this bad movie gem!

David Sumner

I can't wait till y'all get to Cool as Ice (1991). That's a hilarious time capsule of 90s cheese! Also, Sleepwalkers (1992), one of the most batshit studio movies ever released.

Joe Blankenship

Friends for eternity. Loyalty. Honesty. Stick together through thick or thin.

It's funny Arianna thinks there's a chance this was a union shoot. SAG was not aware of this film's existence. The reason for the lack of talking was...well, evidence once the actual acting started. But yeah, at the end, you guys basically figured it out - Y.K. Kim owned a chain of tae kwon do schools (and according to some light goggling, still does) and hired a bunch of his students and made a movie. I'm guessing the 'gangs' were also various students and the bikers were just legit bikers living around Orlando. Also, the beach was very likely Daytona Beach, because that's a 90-120 minute drive from Orlando, as opposed to Miami. It was also basically a lost film until somebody from Alamo Drafthouse made a blind bid for a copy of the film on eBay for $50 back in 2009 and it became a cult hit.

Bad movies have conditioned me to think the leader of a ninja clan will just be some white guy, good on this movie for breaking my expectation. Wait where did the ninja clan go? What am I missing? This movie spent 90% of its budget on having someone write and preform custom songs, which is why every song gets played in full. This is the only way I can explain why the rest of this movie's sound is so god awful. Its not as bad as Birdemic but man its pretty close. Edit: I was not expecting to be served full hole in this movie

I came here specifically to watch you guys sing along with Dragon Sound because you can’t not. And I agree, you kind of have to love Jim.

K

Wait I forgot about Sleepwalkers. Oh my god.

We’re on top cause we play to win! 🙌😄

Sleepwalkers and Maximum Overdrive! Also thank you for bringing up Cool As Ice, they gotta see that. yep, yep 😄

Zombie

Laughed heartily the whole way through, thank you. Can’t wait to see what next week brings!

I like the four-options at the beginning. Seems like a pretty good way to judge a bad movie! It's just hard to know where campy begins and ends. Because I would not have called this campy until I watched it this time, and it's absolutely fucking campy. But, it's specifically 80's campy. Also this is a fun choice for this channel since it had TWO FULL diegetic songs, several other non-diegetic songs from the same band, AND a non-diegetic sountrack over most of it. TOO MUCH! Know when and why to use soundtracks, fuck. These are fun! I didn't think I'd watch this one again because all I could remember was: band song, fight scene, band song, fight scene, guy can't find dad, fight scene, creepy beach scene, fight, guy finds father, fight, end. Pretty boring. And you're totally right about the songs! No chord progression! That would at least show some musical competence, but they banked on just repeating the chorus until we asked why we are still watching people flaccidly clap out of unison! Whew. But your reactions were a great time, as usual. Anyway, now take a weekend trip and get some east coast pizza, although as a Michigander living in Chicago for over 12 years...Detroit style pizza is sooooooo fucking good. The crust is so buttery and cheesy you'll be eating a piece just waiting to get the crust!

all I could remember was: band song, fight scene, band song, fight scene, guy can't find dad, fight scene, creepy beach scene, fight, guy finds father, fight, end i mean... you kinda nailed it

As a new Miami resident, I can't wait to watch.

I recommend watching Resurrecting the Dragon: Looking back at 'Miami Connection'. It's a fun bts addition to this. It is only 30 minutes. The first line is "When I started this movie, I didn't have a script."
