to defend the writing a little bit, Cheese asks Daemon what to do if they cant find Aemon & we don't hear what Daemon has to say. I think it's implied that he said "A son for a son", or whichever highborn boy you can get your hands on.

Clearly, the show writers wanted moral ambiguity between the blacks and greens. But accordingly to the internet, something like 77 % of the audience prefers team black. It seems Ariana and Maple are also definitely team black, but will that change now that the blacks have murdered an infant? I cant seem to root for either side myself--both sides have team members who are exhausting

I think the weird part was Daemon trusting them to kill Aemond. In book obviously it was different because Rhaenyra was less upset about killing of little kid and was I think okay with Blood&Cheese killing the little kid, Aegon, but the show really wanted her nothing to do with this so they made sure she only asked for Aemond. Plus they also cut the Halaena choosing the one kid and Blood&Cheese killing the other one, so the one who lives will always remember that his/her mother wanted the other kid to live, which was sick from Blood and Cheese

I think Tom Glen-Carney (sp?) does a really excellent job this season. I’m definitely not team green, but there were times this season where I was able to forget all the horrible things we learned about Aegon in season 1. The casting for this show was really phenomenal. Heleana’s actress is great too.

Exhausting is the right word. If everyone just stopped being dramatic it seems like things would be fine. ~ Chad

Yeah Tom is great, I love the way he portrays Aegon. Aegon is pretty much just Joffrey 2.0 in the book, but Tom gives him so much more nuance and depth.

I think people are mostly team black for the simple fact that Rhaenyra IS the rightful heir. WE the audience knows this without a doubt. She WAS robbed of her throne purely because she has a vagina. And we see that as wrong. It's just that simple.

Athasin

A lot of people like to point out that the walk Heleana makes (from the Queen's room to the heir's room that Alicent is now screwing Criston in) is the same walk Alicent makes Rhaenyra take right after she gave birth to baby Joffrey.

Athasin

Yeah, Blood legit said, "He said a son for a son." So Daemon definitely said the words.

Daemon spent basically the entire first season upset at his brother for being weak, and not using his dragons and power across the realm, and letting the council take advantage of him. Of course Daemon will be upset and itching to act, when the greens have taken the throne, and thus his chance at being king (consort). And the rat catcher literally asked what to do if Aemond wasnt around, and its implied he said "a son for a son", and was OK with getting Aegons son as vengeance.

PurportedGrey

He's one of the best parts of the season.

to be fair Daemon is doing what he has always done so its not like they are doing something new with him. This is the way he has always been written.

Christophe

I think the next episode is my favourite of season 2. A lot of people say 2x4 is the best but I think 2x2 really has everything that ever made Game of Thrones great in the first place. It's phenomenal.

Jonathan Blaze

I think a lot of people's frustrations is they hoped/wanted him to be different with Rhaenyra. Eventually they have to accept this is just how he is.

Dani

agreed! 2x4 is close behind though

I am 100% certain that “I want Aemond “ was more I want him brought before me not I want him dead. Daemon overstepped as usual in my opinion and it once again blows up in his face.

Lord Cregan Stark at The Wall had Ice slung over his shoulder, for those that missed it. The Valyrian steel greatsword that was passed down all the way to Ned Stark. Which he used to execute the deserter of the Night's Watch, and was melted down by Tywin Lannister and reforged into Oathkeeper and Widow's Wail
