Michael sets out to retrieve his elusive father but instead enters a world of absurd misdirection and mistaken identity. In Episode 3, “¡Amigos!”, Michael—and George Michael—head to Mexico to bring George Sr. home after Lucille hires Gene Parmesan to track him. G.O.B. hires a bounty hunter named Ice to follow Michael, sparking a chaotic chain of tailing and chasing. Buster, deluded, believes he’s in Mexico and fully embraces a life with Lupe’s family. And in a flawless callback, Michael breaks it off with Ann after driving with her for three hours.
Then in Episode 4, “Good Grief,” the Bluths mourn a father who’s not actually dead. Ice reports that George Sr. has been executed—but the family throws a wake anyway. G.O.B. stages an ill-conceived illusion by burying himself in place of the casket, while George Michael secretly hides the still-living George Sr. in the attic of the model home. Buster discovers the “wake” truth—and chaos ensues.
Watch Arianna and Maple react to farcical stakes, emotional denial, and one of the most brilliantly layered comedies on television—where grief, family dysfunction, and slapstick collide.
