To add to the emotional impact, the cast and crew found out the series was cancelled two days after they started filming this episode so the composer and cast had that in mind. Also, Maple just grooving to the opening song while Arianna was trying to initiate a topic of conversation was just hilarious. 😄. We’re sadly nearing the end of the show (2 episodes and a movie) but happy we’re on the journey together!

And because this was the final episode produced, there is an interesting quirk line of dialogue in the opening that indicate that current (dvd) episode order was different from intended/production order.

This is a great episode of television. Thanks again for giving this show a second try, I'm happy for you guys.

Watching this one reminds me of the fact that you two need to seek out the blooper reel once this is all said and done. There's a GREAT Nathan Fillion bit tied to this episode that gets me every time.

I think it's implied that his wound was not something they had the equipment to actually fix. Like internal bleeding.

So much going on in this episode, its easy to miss the little tidbit that Jayne sends his money home to his family, and he's got a sick younger sibling. Puts his character into perspective.

Trash, The Message (i.e. this episode), and Heart of Gold never even aired in the original run.

They actually had to film the 'Tracey stole the Colonel's mustache!' scene just after they learned of the cancellation. No one felt like laughing but they did the laughing scene and got thru it. They were not just professionals; they truly LOVED the show they were making!

Damn I'm playing catch up. Sorry... Can't wait for these last 4 (incl Serenity which u posted 2 days ago)...

Everyone misses that Jayne sends his money back to his momma to help his sick brother.
