Yeah the show is fantastic and even as big fan I hate how they edge us especially closely to important scenes people have been looking towards for years (at the time of release)

I think it can best be summarized as this: Erwin was living for the past (unhappy obsession with proving his father's theory because he feels responsible for his father's death) and Armin was living for the future (excitement about seeing the outside world and a general zeal for life and finding joy). There's a saying that the unhappiest person in the world is the one who achieves their dreams because what the hell do they live for afterward, and this is reflected in Levi asking Erwin what he'll do after seeing the basement and Erwin having no idea. Of course, I'm sure Erwin would still be a good leader even after finding out if his dad was right, but he wouldn't have that ultimate sense of purpose anymore. When faced with death against the beast titan, Erwin was relieved to have that burden lifted from him and finally was at peace, so if you have to choose him or Armin to pass away afterward, Erwin is the right choice.

in my opinion, levi didn't choose erwin because he knows how much he has gone through and didn't wanna put him through any possible future sufferings and wars anymore. its absoulutely devasting that erwin didnt get to achieve his lifelong dream literally hours before it happened but im glad armin is alive

lol relax, its not like they were genuinely upset. They were literally laughing along while saying it. Its absolutely no different than the sentiment just about every single person who watched this weekly while airing shared. Because everyone wants more. Thats a good thing. People be so defensive for no reason

I just finished the reactions and the name isn't even said in this episode lol. I bet very few people would actually put anything together from what little was shown in this episode. They probably couldn't even make out anyone who was shown in the photo, I mean it was barely shown. we will most likely get the reaction you're looking for next week though

Not to be that guy but it's an internment zone, more of an apartheid system to separate groups of people from the main population but not a concentration camp (although they serve similar purposes)

i would say i recommend watching the next episode twice, but you guys have probably already seen it. super excited for next week! the next 2 episodes are so good (just like the rest of s3p2 but whatever lol) i can’t wait

I always loved how when Levi is doing is typical talking to the dead comrade bit with Erwin, Hange just tells him "He's dead." as opposed to Petra who would always assure him that they heard every word.

Preach... Levi realized Erwin fulfilled his purpose, he led humanity to that basement. From then on, they needed someone else, some with a new purpose to drive them to keep going
