Absolutely do the sequel aswell. They really ramp up the wacky. Really looking forward to settling in and watching this and getting a bit zooted after i've had my tea. Arianna is right about animals with big eyes and big ears. That's why I love german shepards and cats with silly ear-to-head ratios and big eyes.

This movie was rated PG and it horrified lots of parents. I vividly remember sitting in the theater at age 9 and seeing a family sitting in front of us storm out angrily after Mrs. Deagle went through the window. (I laughed.) This movie, and INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM which was PG also and came out a few weeks earlier, are usually credited with the MPAA creating the new PG-13 rating.

I was a 13 yr old kid when this came out. the movie posters showed this cute little creature, so we went as a family. I remember my younger sister had to be taken out of theatre crying-- many parents were pissed, MINE included !!! as one critic later said: "the idea of taking a 4-year-olds to see Gremlins, thinking it's going to be a cuddly, funny animal movie and then seeing that it turns into a horror picture, I think many people were upset... They felt like they had been sold something cute and family-friendly and it definitely wasn't"

Im not sure about the legality of it, but some big channels do uncut versions, I totally get being uncomfortable with it if its illegal, but it seems some creators have found a way around it
