I don't know how you guys feel about it, but this final season is giving me Game of thrones season 8 vibes. It's very difficult to end a great series on a high note. Very disappointed so far

The things you're articulating are why I think Kali actually thinks the merging of worlds sounds good, and those are the wheels we see turning in her head. At this point, with all she's been through, I don't think she sees the rest of humanity as worth saving.

I said it after the first 3 episodes and I'll say it again: - Dustin will die - Steve or Jonathan will die saving the other (I'm leaning toward Steve now after his pact with Dustin) - El will sacrifice herself

Nah this 5th season isn't even as remotely bad as season 7 and 8 of GoT was.

Personally, I haven’t been impressed by this season so far (they might have made a huge mistake releasing it between the release of Welcome to Derry), but it’s not close to the level of Game of Thrones Seasons 7/8. That said, there are some glaring signs it could be heading in that direction. I’ve been genuinely confused by how many scenes feel like fluff, adding little substance to the story and existing mostly to farm an emotional reactions or serve as clip bait for Shorts/Reels/TikTok. Still, I’m not ready to write this show off until the final episode airs. One bad episode doesn’t sink a ship. If so I would have been out back in S3 lol.

I’ve gotta agree with Arianna here. Self-sacrifice definitely has its place in storytelling, and there are plenty of great examples of it being done in loads of media, but Kali’s (and the Duffer Bros. from a writing standpoint) reasoning is one of the worst ways to use that plot device. Also I know the Will scene is getting alot of backlash online (deserved and undeserved), but personally the reason I wasnt a fan is becasue it felt off in some way, and I believe that felling is from it being porelly timed in it's placement in the episode, like once everyone regrouped, it should have been then rather than in the middle of the planning and prep at the end of the episode.

Kali is here for one reason, and one reason only, to defend against the backlash of her season 2 episode. I can't believe how much they have left for the final episode to wrap up. It's going to most definitely be underwhelming

It feels like we are heading towards the end of another season, not the series finale, so I could totally see the Duffus brothers pulling a Benioff and Weiss

Can't wait!

It's just become a bloody marvel movie at this point, watch season 1 compared to this and see how much better the writing is. I don't think it's as bad as season 8 got but also never hit the highs of got.
